Rey's parents are none other than Dathan and Miramir. No, that's not a typo. Her dad's name is Dathan, which is at least slightly better than Sheev Palpatine.
In the 2022 novel Shadow of the Sith, author Adam Christopher revealed Rey's parents not only had names — Dathan (dad) and Miramir (mom) — but that they lived fairly miserable lives before their tragic deaths at the wrong end of a cursed blade.
But whoever Rey ends up having for parents, fans can be sure of one thing: Han Solo isn't her father. From a certain point of view, the filmmakers only have the Star Wars films to blame for the emphasis on Rey's secret parents.
While on the planet, when someone asked her who she was, Rey responded by saying that she was "Rey Skywalker." Although she wasn't related to them, both Luke and Leia had been mentors to Rey throughout the sequel trilogy.
But that itself ended up not being the final revelation, as Rey was firmly connected as Emperor Palpatine's granddaughter (yes, the Emperor Palpatine) in The Rise of Skywalker.
Rey was born on Hyperkarn in 15 ABY during the rise of the New Republic. Her father, Dathan, was a bioengineered Strand-Cast cloned from the genetic template of Darth Sidious, the Sith Lord who ruled the Galactic Empire as Emperor Palpatine.
The Rise of Skywalker revealed that Kylo Ren and Rey were two halves of a "dyad" in the Force, which Terrio alternatively described as "sort of soulmate[s] in the Force" and "twins of fate, twins of destiny." Their relationship was also described as a romance by both J.J.
After years of speculation, Star Wars: The Last Jedi revealed that Rey (Daisy Ridley), the main character of the new trilogy, is not the child of Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill). In fact, she's the child of “nobody” — per Rey's own words. However, the subtitle for J.J.
Rey is Han Solo's daughter. But she is not Leia Organa's daughter--and therefore is not a Skywalker. Leia and Han were estranged when she began training with Luke.
Rey is Anakin's half sister, and Palpatines relations to Rey through the force. Rey is a genetic experiment/force experiment of immaculate conception orchestrated by palpatine. So Rey is Palpatines daughter or grand daughter, in a metaphorical sense. The same way Anakin is Palpatines son through the force.
Well, a new Star Wars tie-in has finally answered that question. In The Rise of Skywalker's novelization, we learn that Rey's father was a failed clone of Emperor Palpatine. He was initially created to be a vessel to house Palpatine and his Sith power.
A crystal embodies the Jedi as the heart of the lightsaber, and pure kyber has no color until it's bonded to the Force user. This process likely resulted in Rey Skywalker's lightsaber being yellow.
Do Rey and Kylo have kids? She does not have a baby bump, her hand never goes to her stomach to indicate she's carrying a child, and there wasn't exactly any time for her to have conceived a child with anyone in the course of the film, including Kylo Ren/Ben Solo.
Many of the Expanded Universe stories take place after or in between the events of the movies, and follow the main characters as they grow and start families. Han Solo marries Princess Leia and they have three children: twins named Jacen and Jaina, and a younger son named Anakin.
Following Palpatine's final defeat and her own resurrection, Rey adopts the name Rey Skywalker to honor her mentors and their family legacy and renounce her lineage. As the last remaining Jedi, she makes it her mission to rebuild the Jedi Order.
Darth Vader didn't learn he had a daughter until Return of the Jedi, when he stood before Emperor Palpatine. The Emperor's power probed Luke's mind, attempting to goad him to fall to the dark side, and he discovered Leia's existence. "Sister," the Emperor taunted.
Luke, meanwhile, married a woman named Mara Jade, an assassin who previously served Emperor Palpatine. The couple had one son, a Jedi named Ben Skywalker, whose descendants would go own to have Jedi adventures in their own times.
The revelation that Rey was originally meant to be Obi-Wan's daughter may have surprised many fans, especially after the reveal that she was ultimately a Palpatine. However, the lack of cohesive planning in the sequel trilogy left many unanswered questions and disappointed fans on both sides of the debate.
Rey's father was a genetic clone of the Emperor himself. Her mother was the woman he loved on Jakku before hiding Rey away from the Empires agents. This reveal, too, was a shock to fans who were largely not expecting any more information on the subject as it had been put to rest in the previous film.
“So Leia Force projects herself as Ben and uses her life force to save Rey. Even going as far as to kiss Rey to convince her it's Ben. It's why when Ben disappeared, so did Leia.”
The Prime Jedi was an individual who became the first Jedi to ever use the Force. The Prime Jedi was also the founder of the Jedi Order. The Prime Jedi established the Order on the planet Ahch-To, around 25,025 BBY.
There's no question that Rey and Kylo Ren shared a special relationship, but was it romantic? When Rey kissed Ben, who shed the identity of Kylo Ren upon his return to the light, at the end of The Rise of Skywalker, the act would seem to indicate that Rey loved Ben romantically.
In The Art of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, art director Rick Carter expressed his opinion that Rey was the one who fulfilled the prophecy rather than Anakin, stating that while that one would be a Skywalker, it didn't necessarily need to be one by blood.
Following the Sith assassin Ochi's hunt for them, Dathan and his wife stole Ochi's starship, the Bestoon Legacy, to return to Jakku; the threat of discovery compelled Rey's parents to leave her with Unkar Plutt. As reluctant as they were to leave Rey behind, they did so to protect her from Sidious.
The mystery of Rey's parents was kept secret for years, and Star Wars actor Daisy Ridley revealed the original idea was to have Obi-Wan as her father. For several years, Rey's heritage was the biggest question within Star Wars fandom.
