Hercules Panhellenios (birth name Alcaeus), but better known as Hercules, is a superhero from Marvel comics who is based largely on the hero of myth - though he, much like Thor, has been updated into a superhero in the comics and has fought against a collection of supervillains and criminals of varying significance.
The character's first formal appearance in the Marvel Universe became Journey into Mystery Annual #1 (October 1965), which established Hercules as being a rival of the Norse god of thunder, Thor.
But he proved himself fighting alongside the team, which is why Hercules officially became an Avenger in issue #45. Shortly thereafter, in AVENGERS (1963) #50, Hercules and his new friends saved Olympus and won the favor of Zeus. Since then, Hercules has had multiple stints with the Avengers.
In Marvel Comics, Thor and Hercules are actually friends, but it seems that the MCU will pit them against each other first before eventually teaming up against a greater threat.
Well, it's about even. Hercules' strength is rarely matched. There were times when he even overpowered the Incredible Hulk – a feat that not even Thor could complete. So, when it comes to physical strength, Hercules is the strongest.
If Thanos didn't have his amazing energy manipulating abilities, Hercules would pretty easily beat him. Unfortunately for Herc, Thanos can use those powers to even up the odds.
The actual strongest Avenger is neither Thor nor the Hulk, but Hercules, and the Prince of Power has proven it by beating them both many times. The title of strongest Avenger is often contested among powerhouses such as Thor and Hulk, but it actually belongs to someone else: Hercules, the Prince of Power.
In the comics, Zeus was depicted as a mentor to a young Thor. Out of the respect and friendship between Zeus and Thor's father, Odin, the two shared a deep friendship. Once Odin died, Zeus acted as a father figure and advisor. The film depicts the two at odds, with them trying to kill each other.
Hercules is the son of Zeus and a mortal woman named Alcmena. He was originally raised by his human parents under the name Alcaeus, before becoming aware of his divine heritage and taking the name Herakles.
In the final post-credit scene of Thor: Love and Thunder, a humiliated Zeus (Russell Crowe) plots his revenge against Thor and the other superheroes who take the worship due to gods. He sends them a god in the form of a hero with his son, Hercules, played by Ted Lasso's Brett Goldstein.
Hercules' weakness was his temper and lack of intelligence. He was notorious for getting himself into trouble because of his temper.
5 Morally Good Olympian
Hercules has been a part of The God Squad, a group of deities of all cultural backgrounds that protect the innocent and other gods. Hercules has even been an Avenger, which could potentially tease his future in the MCU.
Hercules / Zeus
He ranks above Thor here because he's technically the stronger of the two. In fact, he is considered by many authorities to be the physically strongest character Marvel has ever created.
Loki – Thor's archenemy and adoptive brother. The son of Laufey, ruler of the Frost Giants of Jotunheim, one of the "Nine Worlds" of the Asgardian cosmology. He is a master of spellcasting and trickery. Lorelei – The sister of Amora the Enchantress, who possesses some skills in Asgardian magic and seduction.
To expiate the crime, Heracles was required to carry out ten labours set by his archenemy, Eurystheus, who had become king in Heracles' place.
Antaeus (/ænˈtiːəs/; Ancient Greek: Ἀνταῖος Antaîos, lit. "opponent", derived from ἀντάω, antao – 'I face, I oppose'), known to the Berbers as Anti, was a figure in Berber and Greek mythology. He was famed for his defeat by Heracles as part of the Labours of Hercules.
DEATH OF THE OLYMPIANS
During antiquity, Zeus had imprisoned the night goddess, Nyx, for eternity...or so he thought. When Nyx escaped, she wasted no time and attacked the Olympians. She slew every god in Olympus, including Zeus himself, while on her quest to restore her full power.
Odin has pretty clearly been shown to be demonstrable more powerful than the other gods. Odin's Odinforce has far outstripped anything Zeus's magical lightning bolts have ever done.
Zeus is one of the strongest Marvel gods who has superhuman abilities and can easily defeat The Hulk. He was also a good friend of Odin and a mentor to young Thor in Marvel Comics.
Thor (from Old Norse: Þórr) is a prominent god in Germanic paganism. In Norse mythology, he is a hammer-wielding god associated with lightning, thunder, storms, sacred groves and trees, strength, the protection of humankind, hallowing, and fertility.
Thor wanted Zeus and the other gods to help him fight Gorr the Godbutcher (Christian Bale), who—as you can perhaps guess from his name—poses a threat to all the gods. Zeus is uninterested in helping. Thor then kills Zeus using Zeus' own thunderbolt, which (frankly) feels like a bit of an overreaction.
In the comics, he has almost exclusively been harmed by mythical or at least magical beings, such as the chaos god Amatsu-Mikaboshi and his son Hercules. In terms of physical prowess and power output, Zeus is mightier than Thanos, but he's also bullheaded and drunk on his own power.
Despite his best efforts and host of abilities, the Web-Head was simply unable to slow down Hercules. The second time they fought, Spider-Man had the Avengers backing him up. This time around, Spider-Man was at least able to restrain Hercules, but it was far from a true decisive victory.
It's debatable whose stronger, although Superman probably has the advantage, but all Hercules can do is hit hard. Superman has so much more he can do against Hercules and that's going to win the fight for him.
