It is advisable to take your favourite earrings off from time to time to let your ears “breathe”. The reason behind this is that your earrings could trap dirt and bacteria (or shampoo) if you leave them on 24/7, which can lead to infections.
Yes, you can take your earrings out after 6-8 weeks if they feel ready, but don't leave them out! They will still close quickly since they're relatively new. Leave your earrings in as often as you can for roughly a year before going extended periods without them.
After getting your ears pierced, it's important to care for them. Leave the earrings in your ears for six weeks or more, even at night. Always wash your hands before touching newly pierced ears. Gently wash your piercings with a mild, fragrance-free soap and water at least once a day.

#1: Take Earrings Out Before Showering

Day to Day Piercing Care: Dos & Don'ts
There's no reason to rotate your piercing. You could damage the delicate, healing skin by rotating the jewelry. In the past, rotating the jewelry was recommended, but it has been found to cause damage that can lead to infection and scarring.
The idea of twisting/moving your new piercing daily & doing this frequently throughout the day is outdated & rarely helps the area to heal nicely, in most cases it causes soreness, redness or swelling which leads to longer healing times & can lead to infection.
Don't fiddle with your piercings.
Don't touch a new piercing or twist the jewelry unless you're cleaning it. Keep clothing away from the piercing, too. Excessive rubbing or friction can irritate your skin and delay healing.
Flip your hair to the opposite side of your head so you can avoid getting an excessive amount of water or any product in the wound. Make sure you stay in this position until you've completely rinsed the product out of your hair before gently patting your ear dry.
Experts recommend that you stay out of pools, hot tubs, lakes, even the ocean, at least until your piercing is completely healed. However, if you are an avid swimmer and you must get into the water, you can cover your piercing with a waterproof bandage.
Another ear-piercing may close quickly, either overnight or after a couple of days if the stud or jewellery is not held in the hole. The primary reason why this would happen to you is that the pierced ear had not healed completely.

Avoid baths, hot tubs, swimming pools, saunas, lakes, etc. for the first three weeks after being pierced as they contain bacteria which can increase the risk of infection.
Clean your piercing immediately after showering or styling to avoid irritation and product build up on your starter piercing earrings. Since you will be cleaning your new piercing at least 3X a day, it's important to use a product created for new piercings.
The single best thing you can do for your piercing is to keep up a regular regimen of salt water soaks. These flush out the piercing, help to draw out discharge, stimulate blood circulation, and soothe irritations. We strongly suggest soaking your piercing at least twice a day—more often if healing is difficult.
Don't eat spicy, salty or acidy foods or liquids while you are healing. Avoid hot drinks such as hot chocolate, coffee, and tea. Eat cold foods and drinks as they lessen swelling. Be extra careful when eating crunchy foods.

Sleeping overtop long hair that is touching a new piercing could introduce bacteria. This might also cause the hair to get snagged in the new jewelry. It's best for that 6-8 week healing period to keep the hair up in a ponytail or a bun while sleeping.
