Hyper Metal Sonic, also known as Metal Sonic, or just Metal, is the secondary antagonist of Sonic the Hedgehog: The Movie. He is the overarching antagonist of the first part, and serves as the central antagonist for the second part of the film.

Scourge the Hedgehog (formerly known as Anti Sonic or Evil Sonic) was an evil version of Sonic the Hedgehog from Moebius. Unlike Sonic, Scourge mistreated others, was selfish and greedy, and had a great desire for power.

However, Metal Sonic betrays Eggman again. Disguised as E-10000B, he absorbs racing data, seemingly for Eggman's Extreme Gear, but really takes it all for himself and races Sonic as the final boss, but loses, and runs off.
Metal Sonic survived the battle and returned much later as v2. 5 using the Power Gem, and then kidnapped Tails as bait for Sonic, but found he had developed some form of "conscience" and chose to sacrifice himself to save them both.
