To summarise, Rowling has never given any inclination of there being any other form of elf, nor would such elves fit the setting nor her use of the term; but on the other hand, she hasn't explicitly said that there are no other forms of elf.
Dobby – Dobby was a house-elf who served the Malfoy family. During Harry Potter's second year at Hogwarts, he tried to warn the boy of the plot to have the Chamber of Secrets reopened. The same year, Harry freed Dobby from the Malfoys, by giving him one of his socks.
Dobby (28 June (year unknown) – March 1998) was a male house-elf who served the Malfoy family. His masters were Dark wizards who treated him cruelly.
Dobby was the resident house-elf of Malfoy Manor, serving Lucius Malfoy, his wife Narcissa, and their only son Draco. They treated Dobby with unkindness and cruelty, often reminding him to perform extra punishments on himself when he did something disagreeable to them. The Malfoys were harsh and abused Dobby often.

When Oromë invited the Elves to Valinor, those who followed him on the Great Journey were called the Eldar, :374 while those who refused were called the Avari. The Eldar were divided into three clans−the Vanyar, the Noldor, and the Teleri. All of the Vanyar and Noldor reached Aman.
Countless house-elves served in the halls of Hogwarts, cleaning, cooking and delivering trunks, among other tasks. Hermione disrupted the regularity with her S.P.E.W. activism but, like those she was trying to help, she certainly meant well.
There are numerous different subraces and subcultures of elves, including aquatic elves, dark elves (drow), deep elves (rockseer), grey elves, high elves, moon elves, snow elves, sun elves, valley elves, wild elves (grugach), wood elves and winged elves (avariel).
S.P.E.W., or the Society for the Promotion of Elfish Welfare, was founded by Hermione Granger during her fourth year at Hogwarts to promote liberation and rights for House Elves, an enslaved caste who appear happy.
Barty eventually began attending Hogwarts, where he was sorted into Ravenclaw.

Though he is initially trying to stop Harry from returning to Hogwarts, it soon becomes clear that Dobby cares deeply for Harry and is such a sweetheart. Following him throughout the books, we get to see him become a free elf finally and really become everything that he wanted.
When Dobby's last words before dying in Harry's arms are "Such a beautiful place, to be with friends. Dobby is happy to be with his friend, Harry Potter."
Dobby spent at least a year searching for a family who would pay him wages to be their House-Elf, something which is unheard of in the wizarding world. Eventually, Professor Dumbledore agreed to pay Dobby one Galleon per week to work at Hogwarts – he had offered more, but Dobby bargained him down.
House-elves in the Harry Potter books are often treated as a metaphor for transatlantic slavery, and it's easy to see why. House-elves are the invisible backbone of the wizarding community, forced to do work against their bidding and passed along in wealthy families as property.
There was one character who continuously embodied ambition, cunning, resourcefulness, and everything the Slytherin House stands for: Dobby. No one can deny that our favorite house-elf was ambitious in his fight for freedom and equality.
Elves, at least the Eldar, have a pregnancy that lasts about a year. By the age of 1, Elves can speak, walk and dance. Puberty and full height are attained at around their fiftieth to one hundredth year, when they stop aging physically.
There are a few candidates. Feanor definitely had the worst legacy. Eol attempted to kill his own son, and instead killed a wife he had entrapped into marrying him. Maeglin actively betrayed his people and sided with Morgoth, though after being tortured.

Dobby Is A Free-Elf
He wanted Harry to be safe and thus tried his best to dissuade him from going back to school. It turns out, Lucius had snuck Tom Riddle's Diary into Ginny Weasley's cauldron of school supplies at Diagon Alley.
In the book, it's primarily because: Hermione didn't disapparate with Harry and Dobby from Malfoy manner. So it's possible she wasn't close by them. Ron apparated with her based on the description of the scene and not knowing Dobby's injury, he probably took her right back to Shell Cottage without thinking.
House Elves are made to serve their masters to the letter. What they say goes, even when they go against the Elf's personal beliefs and morals. They also believed in self punishment (or at least Dobby did). If the task was not complete, or not done to a satisfactory standard, he would punish himself for his failure.
