TikTok has announced that it's expanding its audience controls feature, giving creators the ability to restrict their videos to adult viewers. Prior to this expansion, the adult-only audience controls feature was only available for TikTok Live. Now the company is bringing the feature to its short-form videos as well.
The app is letting users restrict their videos so only viewers only the age of 18 can watch. In a blog post, TikTok announced an expansion of its Content Levels, which group the app's users by age and restrict the content seen by younger groups.
TikTok Is Introducing an Adults-Only Content Option.
The app launched in 2020 as a "free speech short video" platform and Clapper promised users less moderation of their content, the Verge reported. The New York Post noted that Clapper is being promoted as "TikTok for adults," but it is similar to TikTok because users can share posts in a short-form video format.
Douyin and TikTok are both made in China and are the two versions of the same giant social media application. While Douyin is the original version of the app, the rest of the world only talks about the international version: the triumphant TikTok.
TikTok is Most Popular With Younger Generations
