Carb-heavy foods such as bread, sandwiches, toast, and crackers are some of the best things to eat with a hangover. They're easy for the stomach to digest and offer an immediate source of energy. Carbohydrates are also naturally high in sodium, so they can help replenish your electrolyte levels too.
No food can erase the effects of a night of drinking alcohol, but the best hangover foods are hydrating and anti-inflammatory. Rest helps, too. Try to avoid greasy foods, sugar, and caffeine which can make your symptoms worse. Instead, stick to water and foods like bananas and crackers.

The same goes for coffee, which is acidic and could exacerbate your tummy troubles. And like alcohol, coffee is a diuretic, so it's not going to help your hydration game. The caffeine may provide a quick perk, but coffee could likely make your hangover symptoms worse.
Sip a glass of water
When you wake up hungover, especially if you're nauseous, it can feel like putting more liquids into your stomach is the last thing you need. But, drinking can cause mild dehydration, and rehydrating is important for feeling better.
Congeners are compounds, other than ethyl alcohol, that are produced during fermentation. These substances contribute to the taste and smell of alcoholic beverages. Darker spirits, such as bourbon, which tend to have higher levels of congeners than clear spirits, could worsen hangover symptoms for some people.
' What you are feeling are the effects of dehydration and low blood sugar. To bring your blood sugar back up to normal, you really just need to eat anything with some carbs, but balance it out with protein or healthy fats to prevent further blood sugar drops,” she says.
McDonalds Coke
Once again this is a myth, but lots of people claim McDonald's coke has a magical effect on hangovers. People also say it has to be just right- not too fizzy, not too cold, not too flat, not too warm. Well I agree, when it is just right it can move the earth, but it is not a cure.
"When you're hungover, you need to hydrate your body. The way you feel – that headache – it's mostly caused by dehydration. Something like Coca-Cola has lots of sugar and fluids and will put those back into your body to get your energy levels up. The caffeine will also give you an energy boost."
Milk does not contain magic hangover-curing ingredients. It's a nutritious drink that will provide you with some energy and hydration. And more importantly, you may be able to tolerate it better than a meal in the morning when hungover. But it really doesn't matter what type of milk you go for.
For example, the liver will be overworking to process alcohol, you'll be tired from little and/or poor quality sleep, you're likely to be urinating more as alcohol is a diuretic, leaving you dehydrated and headache-y – and any post-night out vomiting can irritate the stomach for several days.'
Taking Paracetamol to relieve headaches after using alcohol is not recommended, because when having a headache after drinking alcohol, the active ingredients Paracetamol will double the harm to the liver, affecting the health of the drinker.
Avoid taking any medicines for your hangover that contain acetaminophen (such as Tylenol). Acetaminophen may cause liver damage when combined with alcohol.
“If you've just had a few drinks, sleeping for a solid eight hours can absolutely help you to reduce the severity of a hangover,” says Dr Mike Molloy, nutrition coach and founder of M2 Performance Nutrition.
Another reason your hangovers may be lasting 72+ hours is the rate at which you consume alcohol and what you're drinking. Your body processes alcohol at the same rate no matter what, so when you drink faster you get drunker, and your hangover gets worse.
Yogurt for hangover nausea
Yogurt can be a soothing food to consume if you're feeling nauseous after drinking. But once again, it's not a known treatment for nausea and any benefit is likely to be short-lived.
Eating greasy food before drinking is particularly helpful because the fat in the food will actually coat the lining of your stomach, which may sound kinda gross but can keep you from getting sloppy, and about eight hours later, hungover.
