While we never got to see Yoda vs. Darth Vader, it surely would have been a sight to behold. Had Yoda and Darth Vader fought each other both at full power, the fight arguably would have landed in Yoda's favor. Both are proficient with a lightsaber and with the Force, but Yoda might just be a little bit better.
Aside from agility and telekinesis, Yoda could absorb and redirect Force attacks, like lightning. Because of his higher understanding, he would easily overcome Darth Vader in a fight, though that doesn't mean it wouldn't be a difficult battle.
Jedi Master Yoda is the most powerful of them all. This should come as no surprise, as he was the head of the Jedi Order in the prequels and was revered for his abilities during the original trilogy. Yoda's power is unmatched and was a real threat to Darth Vader and the Imperials.

They existed in the Wellspring of Life, the Force planet, and are mysterious beings who held the key to becoming a Force Spirit. Their relationship to the Force is what ultimately pushes them to be more powerful than Yoda.

Having faced his father once before, Luke was familiar with his tactics and used the force to gain an upper-hand. In Star Wars Canon, only Luke Skywalker can be acknowledged as the one who truly defeated Darth Vader.
As such, Obi-Wan had the skills to defeat some of the strongest enemies in the Star Wars storyline. Kenobi first defeated Vader on Mustafar when Anakin had just fallen to the dark side of the Force. While Anakin had the upper hand the entire fight, Obi-Wan played defense until he could get the needed opening.
That was until Master Plo Koon showed up though, and actually managed to defeat Yoda without even using his Electric Judgement ability. Yoda was impressed with Master Plo and gave him great respect from that moment onwards. You can only imagine the reaction of the Padawans watching the fight!
This ensured that the Sith could hone their skills in secret without fear of betrayal from rival Sith factions. More cunning and devious than all but the most attuned Force-sensitive beings, Darth Bane could more than likely defeat Yoda in a battle of both strength and wit.
Yoda's Duel With Palpatine Called for a Strategic Shake-Up
Yoda claims that the light side of the Force is stronger than the dark, but his battle against Palpatine is almost equal. The Sith Lord's powers were enough to overwhelm the Jedi and send him plummeting down to the depths of the senate chamber.
Also, in the novel following was written ”Yoda's newfound hope gave him the strength to resist Sidious's might…” and ”…an astounded Sidious, who was slowly being pushed back by the strength of Yoda's counterattack…”. These excerpts indicates that Yoda is superior in terms of the Force power.
While little is known about Yoda's species, we do know, however, that their entire race is incredibly gifted in the force. Both Jedi Master Yaddle, and now Grogu hold great force powers, but no Jedi Master has ever held greater power than Jedi Master Yoda.
Yoda will most likely win in a fight against Darth Vader because he is more skilled with a lightsaber and has the experience and feats that allow him to trim whatever size and strength advantage Darth Vader has over him. In fact, Yoda nearly defeated Palpatine, something that Vader could never do.
While it's not to say Skywalker wouldn't stand a chance, the duel between Yoda and Anakin would be close. In the end, though, Yoda would be the ultimate victor if he fought Anakin in Star Wars' Revenge of the Sith.
There are certainly scenarios where Darth Vader would have the upper hand in a duel with Yoda, but in most cases, Yoda would be the more likely victor. Vader wields absurd levels of Force power during his dark side prime that would certainly rival Yoda's own abilities, but likely not exceed them.
Given Palpatine's apparent fear of Yoda, it's fascinating to imagine how differently things would have played out had the Grandmaster remained on Coruscant rather than headed to Kashyyyk. Palpatine had already launched his endgame plan, meaning he would have had only limited room to adjust.
Yoda found himself overpowered in battle against Darth Sidious, who would become Emperor Palpatine, but his wise retreat gave him time to mentor a new hope before ultimately succumbing to old age and passing into the Living Force on the planet Dagobah.

While Darth Vader and Jedi Master Yoda never fought in the official Star Wars canon, an alternate timeline from Dark Horse Comics pitted them together with a rather unexpected ending.
