Usually, it is not necessary to rinse with water after using mouthwash. However, if you are concerned about remaining mouthwash in your mouth, you can rinse your mouth with water, though only lightly; otherwise, the active ingredients will be washed away and the benefits will be reduced.
General Advice for Using Mouthwash
Swish it around in your mouth for 30 seconds to a full minute. Spit out the mouthwash into the sink after this period of time. Do not reuse mouthwash. If the pungency of the mouthwash seems strong for your mouth, start out by swishing with it for 10 seconds.
Don't rinse with water straight after toothbrushing
After brushing, spit out any excess toothpaste. Don't rinse your mouth immediately after brushing, as it'll wash away the concentrated fluoride in the remaining toothpaste. Rinsing dilutes it and reduces its preventative effects.
How Long Should You Wait to Rinse After Brushing? If you want to be on the safe side, then you should wait at least twenty minutes before rinsing your mouth after brushing. This gives the fluoride more time to work, which means you have a better chance at cleaning them and preventing tooth decay.

You can spit it out as the need may arise. However, eating or drinking for at least 30 minutes is not advisable as it will lead to the washing-off of the mouthwash from the mouth and thus hinder with its efficacy. Also, rinsing with a mouthwash immediately after brushing is also not recommended.
