Generally, an active baby is a healthy baby. The movement is your baby exercising to promote healthy bone and joint development. All pregnancies and all babies are different, but it's unlikely that lots of activity means anything other than your baby is growing in size and strength.
It's not likely your baby can move too much. The important thing is to be aware of your baby's usual pattern of movements. Any changes to this pattern of movements should be checked by a midwife or doctor.
Fetal movements in utero are an expression of fetal well-being. However, a sudden increase of fetal movements is a sign of acute fetal distress, such as in cases of cord complications or abruptio placentae.
If you still feel that your baby may be moving too much, speak to your doctor or midwife. She may ask you to note down when your baby moves and what you've been doing, so she can see if there's a reason for the activity.
The origin of the excessive fetal movements is unknown; they may represent fetal seizures induced by asphyxia or infection, an attempt to release cord entanglement or a change in fetal behaviour (inducing signs of distress) in response to a noxious stimulus.
It's visible via ultrasound. Your practitioner can detect a nuchal cord about 70 percent of the time during routine ultrasounds, although it's usually not possible to determine if the cord is short or tight around the neck. Baby is suddenly moving less in the last weeks of your pregnancy.
Fetal distress is diagnosed by monitoring the baby's heart rate. A slow heart rate, or unusual patterns in the heart rate, may signal fetal distress. Your doctor or midwife might pick up signs of fetal distress as they listen to your baby's heart during pregnancy.
Fetal movements felt by pregnant women are a sign that the fetus is growing in size and strength. The mother is usually the first to feel these movements, which can later be perceived by others. Women are often taught by their health care provider to monitor or be aware of the movements of the fetus.
Babies, especially very young infants, often move around. These movements are pretty uncoordinated, with arms and legs flailing about, largely because of this rapid neurological development in the first few months of life. If your baby is wiggling and crying a lot, try swaddling her.
A movement disorder is a condition that arises in the brain that causes a child to move too much or too little. It can result in a repetitive extra movement or sound, like a motor or vocal tic, or involve a shaking tremor, stiffened posture of the muscles, or difficulties with balance and coordination.
Here are some common signs that indicate that baby is in stress: They are not eating, and refuse to take feed. They are crying more than normal. They lack emotions.
Babies and children can get overstimulated when they're around too much noise or activity. Overstimulated babies and children might cry or get cranky. Toddlers might have tantrums. Help children deal with overstimulation by reducing noise and activity or setting up a quiet activity.
Ultimately, there's no such thing as excessive fetal movement. Babies will often have their own activity levels. There are certain trends that most pregnancies follow, such as the fetus being the most active after a meal; although this may not be the case for every pregnancy.
Fetal movements typically increase when the mother is hungry, reflecting lowered blood sugar levels in the mother and fetus. This is similar to the increased activity of most animals when they are seeking food, followed by a period of quietness when they are fed.
A late stillbirth occurs between 28 and 36 completed pregnancy weeks. A term stillbirth occurs between 37 or more completed pregnancy weeks.
Everything you need to know about nuchal chord. A nuchal cord occurs when the umbilical cord wraps around the fetal neck completely or for 360 degrees. Nuchal cords are common during pregnancy with incidences recorded at around 12 percent at 24–26 weeks, reaching 37 percent at full term .

Some women find it comforting to feel their baby moving around, but for others, it makes it difficult to fall asleep. You can try having a light snack, walking around the house, or talking to your baby to soothe them back to sleep.
Getting to know each other
It may feel like a silly or one-sided conversation, but talking to your baby while they're still in the womb helps you to build a lasting bond. What's more, bonding with your bump helps your baby learn. It's easy to do – and dad can get involved too.
4 months into your pregnancy, your baby will also feel it when you stroke the skin of your tummy: rub your hand against your stomach, gently push and stroke it… and soon your baby will start responding with little kicks, or by curling up into your palm!

Truth be told, they won't feel much of a sensation due to the bath water itself but they will enjoy the sense of relaxation that flows through your body as a result of the soak. Further, you may find the baby squirming around based on the noise of the rushing water.
