An easy way to start out is by applying a lighter shade all over the lid (using your short hair synthetic brush), and then apply a small amount of the darker shade to your outer crease, and blend (using your fluffy dome brush).
You should always go from the lightest shade to the darkest in the crease!
Choose a neutral color and a darker shade.
If your skin is darker, opt for a color that's a little lighter than your skin, to make sure it pops. For example, if your skin is fair, then you might choose a champagne or light beige eyeshadow as a base color and light brown or taupe eyeshadow as your second hue.

Lack of eyeshadow primer

Avoid dark colours

AVOID: Neutral shades blend straight into a fairer skin tone, and reds and pinks can make you look tired or ill. darker tones like grey can give a bruise-like finish.
DON'T wear mascara on your lower lashes. Playing up your lower lashes can make your eyes look droopy and draw attention to dark circles. It makes the eyes look older and accentuates the under eye wrinkles.
If you want your eyeshadow to look natural, use softer shades and a light hand. Natural eyeshadow looks appear natural because they stick with neutral shades like brown, tan and beige, typically in matte or slightly shimmery finishes.
When Should You Apply Eyeliner? To ensure your eyeliner is long-lasting and doesn't fade during the day, apply eyelid primer before applying eyeliner. Eyeliner application should happen after you put on eyeshadow to make the lines sharp and visible.
Never put concealer or foundation on your eyelids as a base, it will cause your eye makeup to crease.
If you have blue eyes choose warm colors like bronze, terracotta brown, and deep grey; if you have green eyes go for purple hues like violet and mauve; if you have brown eyes use neutral tints like gold, salmon, and silver; and if you have hazel eyes choose a mix of neutral and purple colors.
