Ares was the god of war, the son of Zeus, and the brother of Athena. Unlike the other gods, Ares is particularly impulsive and sanguine and knowing the human soul, he decided to actively help Theseus and his friends in an ambush right away. However, his intervention will lead him to death at the hands of Zeus himself.
Answer and Explanation: In Greek mythology, nobody could kill Ares because he was immortal. However, in various computer games and comics, he was killed by various characters, including Wonder Woman.
Death of Ares
Ares pleaded for his life while reminding Kratos of the day that he had saved his life, and how he had only tried to make him a great warrior. Kratos ironically recanted that Ares had "succeeded" in doing that before he impaled him through the chest and killed him.
Zeus, having forbidden the Gods from waging war on each other and fearing the possibility that Ares might be the "Marked Warrior" who would overthrow Zeus, allowed Athena to receive help from Kratos. Athena told him that killing Ares would complete his penance and rid him of his past sins.
As if to add insult to injury, in all his myths Ares suffered a series of humiliations and defeats, even at the hands of his own family. One of the worst was during the Trojan War. Typically, Ares was up to no good, and he chose to side with the Trojans instead of his Greek counterparts.
Athena is the single most prevalent foe of Ares, the two were the ultimate symbol of war, two siblings with the same station but who were so different they were always ready to fight one another.
Ares is then attacked by a furious Hades, who whacks him with the pitchfork. Ares tries to fight back, but Hades knocks him over the cliff edge. Ares falls several stories before he crashes down on a lower ledge, which injures him but he still survives.
Ares was the Greek god of war and one of the twelve major Greek gods who lived on Mount Olympus. He was known for being violent and cruel, but also cowardly. Most of the other Olympians, including his parents Hera and Zeus, didn't like Ares very much.

Ares used that sword in the final battle with Kratos, but he underestimated the Ghost of Sparta and was impaled through the chest with the Blade of the Gods.
Then looking at him darkly Zeus who gathers the clouds spoke to him: "Do not sit beside me and whine, you double-faced liar. To me you are the most hateful of all gods who hold Olympus. Forever quarrelling is dear to your heart, wars and battles.
Ares appears to be siding with Hera and is against his father, Zeus, showing his preference towards his mother and possible dislike of his father and his actions.
To say that, Ares, the god of war, had a bad reputation is a gross understatement. His insatiable thirst for violence and bloodshed made him feared by mortal beings and despised by his fellow deities. Zeus, his father, wasn't particularly fond of him either.
Now, don't get me wrong, Ares is a pretty powerful dude. He's the god of war, after all, and he's got some serious muscles to back up his reputation. But when it comes to power, Zeus is the king of the gods and no one can top him.
Why is Zeus the strongest god? Zeus is the strongest of the gods in the Ancient Greek religion because he has both power and intelligence. He is able to ensure that he is not replaced by another, more powerful deity.
The god of war was nearing his last breaths when Hermes (one of the most under-appreciated and underestimated of the gods) was informed of Ares' predicament. Hermes quickly found, and saved, Ares and brought the god of war back to Olympus, where Artemis was being celebrated for her wit and valor.
(1) DIVINE LOVES
ARES The god of war had a long love affair with Aphrodite which lasted for the duration of her marriage to Hephaistos and beyond. She bore him four divine sons: Eros, Anteros, Deimos, Phobos; and a daughter: Harmonia.
Hades is Ares's uncle through Zeus. Although there is little information regarding their relationship, Hades shows that he is willing to let Ares off without a punishment after he indirectly hurts Persephone when using his powers on her.
Ares was the son of Zeus and HERA. He himself was not married, but he had many liaisons, most famously with APHRODITE, goddess of love and wife of the crippled smith-god HEPHAESTUS, as recounted by the bard Demodocus in Homer's Odyssey (8.266–366).
Hercules also killed several other sons of Ares including Kyknos who was killing people on their way to Delphi. Enraged, Ares then fought with Hercules but was defeated and injured by the hero of the Twelve Labours. Ares fathered more mortal children than those of his immortal offspring.
Like all Olympians, Ares is superhumanly strong, though far more so than the majority of his race. Among the Olympians, his physical strength is equaled only by his uncles, Neptune and Pluto, and is exceeded only by his father, Zeus, and his half-brother, Hercules.
How did Athena beat Ares? Athena defeated Ares several times. During the Trojan War, she attacked him with a boulder. Athena also helped Heracles (Hercules in Latin) defeat Ares through a non-fatal wound.
