Middle-aged adults will begin to notice slight changes in their vision which can progress over time. Beginning in the early to mid-40s, many adults may start to have problems seeing clearly at close distances, especially when reading and working on the computer.
Ageing also causes a normal loss of peripheral vision, with the size of our visual field decreasing by approximately one to three degrees per decade of life. By the time you reach your 70s and 80s, you may have a peripheral visual field loss of 20 to 30 degrees.

A clear and stable tear film on the eye surface is essential for clear vision. This problem can be worse for children who may have to look up at a screen that's positioned for adult use.
For example, early signs of macular degeneration include blurry vision, trouble seeing in dim lights, and faded-looking colors. Your eye doctor isn't the only one responsible for your eye health. It's important that you know about the early signs of eye diseases.
Central vision becomes blurry, often quickly, and there may also be blind spots. Colors may seem less bright, and straight lines may appear wavy with the waviness of lines increasing.
Most of the time floaters are harmless. However, they can be a symptom of a tear in the retina. (The retina is the layer in the back of the eye.) If you notice a sudden increase in floaters or if you see floaters along with flashes of light in your side vision, this may be a symptom of a retinal tear or detachment.

Floaters usually happen because of normal changes in your eyes. As you age, tiny strands of your vitreous (the gel-like fluid that fills your eye) stick together and cast shadows on your retina (the light-sensitive layer of tissue at the back of the eye). Those shadows appear as floaters.
People with low vision often need adaptations in lighting and/or enlarged print to read something. There are two specific types of low vision: Myopic- Unable to see distant objects clearly, commonly referred to as "near-sighted."
