As an adult, I think that the idea is very original, and there is some art to the movie and it's very unique. That being said, I would never, ever recommend it for children who are only 7 years old. I think this movie is more appropriate for kids over 10.
The Nightmare Before Christmas is rated PG by the MPAA for some scary images. All things Halloween (including ghoulish creatures, grotesque monsters, and frightening figures) are used to create the setting in this stop-frame animation.
Because of its sexual references, coarse language and sad themes, Last Christmas isn't suitable for children under 10 years. We also recommend parental guidance for children under 13 years.
The 13 Days of Christmas or The Nightmare Before Christmas: The 13 Days of Christmas is a picture-book with a Nightmare Before Christmas-themed parody of The 12 Days of Christmas. It was published by Disney Press on the July 20 of 2009.
The "12 Days of Christmas" referenced in the carol reference the 12 days following Christmas, also known as Twelvetide in Christianity. The period begins with the birth of Christ on December 25th and ends with the coming of the Three Wise Men on January 6th, also known as the Epiphany or Three Kings Day.
That's right: December 25 marks the official start of the 12 days of Christmas, the Christian tradition that shares its name with a relentlessly stick-in-your-head Christmas carol.
He discovered that Jack had "four or five skeleton children at hand" who play together in a xylophone band. Given the ending of the movie, it can be assumed that these children are Jack and Sally's.
Sally is Jack Skellington's love interest. She is a very pretty, loving, caring, and shy rag doll who told Jack that Christmas and Halloween shouldn't be mixed. She is originally patched together by Doctor Finkelstein.
While the main characters of The Corpse Bride and Frankenweenie share the same first name, they don't share their last ones. Victor Frankenstein isn't the same person as Victor van Dort. And Jack Skellington is a completely different name. And, obviously, Zero, Sparky, and Scraps are all different names, too.

According to the Motion Picture Association, the PG-13 label means the movie is fine for kids over the age of thirteen. It may not, however, be appropriate for children under thirteen because of language, violence, nudity, and other mature content.
This movie uses very dark humor and has pretty dark, disturbing characters in it.
Good overall film
Yes, it does have some sexual content in it, but there's no real nudity shown. There is drug use and drinking shown in this movie as well, but it is rated PG-13 for a reason.

The celebration of Christmas started in Rome about 336, but it did not become a major Christian festival until the 9th century.
