The hedgehog (Erinaceidae), the mongoose (Herpestidae), the honey badger (Mellivora capensis) and the opossum are known to be immune to a dose of snake venom.
The researchers found adaptations in Komodo dragon genes involved in coagulation that make these lizards immune from the venom anti-coagulant, protecting them from bleeding to death when attacked by another of their own species.

Cobras actually fear mongooses so much that they try to avoid confrontation with their formidable little opponent. Due to the mongoose's natural defense against snake venom, the only way a cobra can kill them is with several bites. However, mongooses actually win around 75 to 80 percent of fights with cobras.
The most basic answer was that it was their natural survival instinct. They both attack each other on sight because they need to survive. The snake wants to kill the mongoose so that it can live. Similarly, the mongoose wants to kill the snake so that it can survive.
A Komodo dragon would win a fight against a king cobra.
Both creatures are ambush predators, but the king cobra must rely on its venom to kill its enemy before it is attacked and killed.
A crocodile would win a fight against a Komodo dragon. Crocodiles are simply too large and too powerful for a Komodo dragon to fight back against. One likely outcome would be the crocodile waiting for the Komodo dragon in the water and dragging it beneath the waves to suffer a brutal death.
A lion would win a fight against a Komodo dragon. Lions are larger and heavier and have something that the Komodo dragon lacks: the ability to kill their enemy with a single blow.
Some fun facts about the Black Mamba:
They are some of the world's fastest snakes and are capable of speeds of more than 12 miles (19 km) per hour and hence will be the one which can kill the fastest. In the wild, a black mamba can live for up to 11 years.
The black mamba is supposedly the most dangerous snake, while the inland taipan is likely the snake with the deadliest venom. Black mambas are larger, faster, very aggressive, and capable of attacking from a distance.
A king cobra would win a fight against a taipan.
Needless to say, if one snake ambushes the other, that snake would be in a great position to win the battle. Yet, if these animals encountered each other in an open area, then the king cobra has a massive advantage.

The Coastal Taipan is often regarded as the most dangerous snake in Australia. They are extremely nervous and alert snakes, and any movement near them is likely to trigger an attack.

Most of the venomous tend to be in this area. This is because it receives large amounts of sun but at the same time allows for enough cover for protection. The Tiger snake is a species that represent South Australia.
Unarmed Human vs.
The average human is faster than a king cobra on land. A king cobra can slither at about 5 mph over short distances. The average human can walk at 3 mph and run up to 8 mph. Yet, the fastest person alive can run at speeds of 27.5 mph, but only during a sprint.

Mongooses are noted for their audacious attacks on highly venomous snakes, such as king cobras. The Mongoose is a snake killer by nature.
