In the mammalian realm, hedgehogs, skunks, ground squirrels, and pigs have shown resistance to venom. Some scientists even believe the lowly opossum, which wields a venom-neutralizing peptide in its blood, may hold the key to developing a universal antivenom.
This results in an animal that can withstand venom with little or no side effect. So far scientists fully understand venom resistance in only four mammals - mongooses, honey badgers, hedgehogs and pigs - as well as several snakes.
The hedgehog (Erinaceidae), the mongoose (Herpestidae), the honey badger (Mellivora capensis) and the opossum are known to be immune to a dose of snake venom.
Are venomous animals immune to their own toxins? Yes they are. If you take snakes as an example, if a venomous snake is attacked and bitten by a different species of venomous snake, then it is likely that it will be affected by the toxins.
No Antidote
Yet there is still no remedy against two of the most venomous animals of the world: the blue-ringed octopus and the blowfish.

Their resistance is to the a-neurotoxin in snake venom, specifically. Domestic pigs have a genetic mutation in their cell receptors that prevents binding of the a-neurotoxin, rendering the venom useless. The resistance doesn't occur in most pigs until they are adults, so small pigs are still vulnerable.
The researchers found adaptations in Komodo dragon genes involved in coagulation that make these lizards immune from the venom anti-coagulant, protecting them from bleeding to death when attacked by another of their own species.
“And while only 31 per cent of dogs survive being bitten by an eastern brown snake without antivenom, cats are twice as likely to survive – at 66 per cent.” Cats also have a significantly higher survival rate if given antivenom treatment and, until now, the reasons behind this disparity were unknown.

Mongoose

If chickens and roosters are capable of killing snakes, does that mean they are immune to venom? Well, no. Chickens are not immune to a snake's bite. Should they be bitten by a venomous snake, the chicken will most likely die.
Cattle, arguably, are the most resilient to rattlesnake bites, but the venom can cause a cow to abort so it is important to keep track of cattle out on summer range and take immediate action if you suspect a snakebite.
Though a snake-eating species, King Cobra is not fully immune to snake venoms, as it can be envenomed and killed by another King Cobra or venomous snakes.
Snakes can generally last around two months without food, however, wild snakes can go without fresh water for months or even weeks. Snakes in captivity shouldn't be restricted water intake for longer than a week.

Brachiopods have black blood. Octopuses have a copper-based blood called hemocyanin that can absorb all colors except blue, which it reflects, hence making the octopus' blood appear blue.
The blue-ringed octopodes (Hapalochlaena spp.) produce tetrodotoxin, which is extremely toxic to even the healthiest adult humans, though the number of actual fatalities they have caused is far lower than the number caused by spiders and snakes, with which human contact is more common.
Land leeches are native to Madagascar and India and the islands of Indonesia, but there are some species found in Japan. Currently there are 60 species known to science, of which 50 belong to the Family Haemadipsidae (literally “Blood – thirsty”), while the rest are in the Family Xerobdellida.
