The main difference between them is the type of curl used to create the look. While for fox eyelash extensions you need to use L curls to achieve the foxy eye effect, cat eye lash extensions are done with J, M, and C curls.
B-Curl: Allows for the most natural fox eye effect. It is suitable for clients who want to add a little more lash volume to their natural lashes. The eyelashes also become thicker.
The main difference between cat eyes and fox eyes is their shape. Cat eyes have a more upward slant on the outer corners, while fox eyes have a more horizontal or straighter line. This gives cat eyes a more sultry and exotic look, while fox eyes have a more youthful and innocent appearance.
What Lash Curl Is Best For Hooded Eyes? For clients with hooded eyes, we recommend a C curl. The C curl helps to lift the lashes from the eyelid and gives an attractive, fanned-out look when open.
Lash technician: To make the eye appear bigger, short lengths and medium lengths of a B Curl should be used. Ensure medium lengths are used in the middle outer eye to give a big round eye appearance.
Hybrid lashes don't damage your own lashes when applied correctly. Just like classic or volume lashes, it all comes down to the application process and the products used.
Synthetic, real silk fibers or actual mink fur are the most popular lash extensions. Each kind offers different effects on your overall look. For example, synthetic lashes are the cheapest, but they can be heavy and painful to wear.
To achieve this look botulinum toxin is injected into the orbicularis oculi muscle to create a widening of the eye which gives a more oval or almond shape to the lower eyelid. The tail of the outer eye will also go upwards following this treatment.
There are loads of ways to create a 'fox-like' look, using either brow tape, liner or the most recent trend, non-surgical brow lifts (thread lifts). Thread lifts are a non-surgical brow lift that involves inserting a tiny, dissolvable thread into the face, which pulls up the skin.
To get the perfect fox eye look, one needs to shave off the tail end of their eyebrows, eliminating everything from the arch to the tail, creating a straighter brow. Once the trail has been shaved off, one can draw a cat-eye flick up towards the temples with the help of an eyebrow pencil or black or brown eyeshadow.

Health Factor: Eyelash Extensions Win
The primary source of concern is the glue to hold them onto your natural lashes. Some older techniques used chemicals containing things like formaldehyde which is generally not great for your health! More recently, however, plant based chemicals have been used and it's much safer.
Personally, I would always choose silk or faux-mink over synthetic, to create a natural look. Softer and more flexible, less stiff and plasticky looking, they usually last longer as well. It may take more of them to create the dramatic look of synthetic lashes though, which some people do love.
The Long-Term Damage
The glue technicians use to apply eyelash extensions is semi-permanent. It's a very strong chemical, and you're applying it right along your lash line where it can impede the growth of hair follicles.
To create the ultimate natural lash in 2023 without extensions, Edwards suggests a tint and lift with shields rather than rods as the perfect duo. “Since Covid-19, lash lifts have completely changed the game as people want a more natural look, but still want something to enhance their natural lashes,” she says.
Hooded clients will usually complain that they feel they look constantly tired as well as their eyes looking small and it is easy to see why. However with the clever use of eyelash extensions you can disguise the hooded eye and make that client feel like a million dollars!
Your eyes will be more noticeable and youthful.
Eyelash extensions widen the eye and help draw attention away from any droopy or saggy skin — this is due in part to the curl, which lifts the eyes back up. Wider eyes create a more youthful appearance, which, in turn, will make your eyes more of a focal point once again.
Clients with hooded eyes should ask for the longest lengths of the lash to be placed to a mid-outer eye and for your technician to use the curliest lash available. "The curliest lashes available are a D/L/and L+ curl. This more dramatic curl allows for the eye to really open up!" says Buhler.
HOODED / MONOLID EYES
Strong curls, such as a D and DD curls, will often not leave enough space between the extension and skin of the eyelid and can potentially cause discomfort for your clients. C curls or angled L curls will be the best option for hooded eyes.
Hooded eyes are often at risk of looking sleepy or closed off. Look for lashes that are shorter in the inner corner to prevent exacerbating that effect. When shopping for strip lashes, always look for a thin, flexible band. Clear bands are usually more flexibles, so they're easier to fit along your lash line.
