Extended Description. The three curses that are classified as Unforgivable are the Imperius Curse, the Cruciatus Curse, and the Killing Curse. Mad-Eye Moody introduces Harry and his class to these curses in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
The three Unforgivable Curses are the Cruciatus Curse, which causes unbearable pain; the Imperius Curse, which allows the user to control the actions of the victim; and the Killing Curse, which causes instant death.
Some would say there's no spell worse than Avada Kedavra, the Killing Curse that Voldemort used so indiscriminately. But it's definitely not the wizarding world's only Unforgivable Curse.
The first time Harry cast Cruciatus was in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix when Harry Potter uses Crucio on Bellatrix Lestrange after she killed Sirius Black in the Department of Mysteries.
History Of Avada Kedavra
The Killing Curse was created in the early Middle Ages by Dark witches and wizards. Primarily, the curse was used to quickly slay opponents during a duel.
Harry became so enamoured with the spell that he eventually used it to finish off Lord Voldemort. Here's how Harry's relationship with Expelliarmus became his signature – and why that's a good and bad thing.
Avada Kedavra meaning
Used mostly by Lord Voldemort and his Death Eaters, it's used to kill people. Rowling claims she created this spell out of a popular “Abra-Kadabra” saying in Aramaic which means “Let the thing be destroyed”.
Blood spurts from Draco's face and chest, and Myrtle beings screaming. Snape bursts into the room and heals Draco's wounds almost immediately.
In Deathly Hallows, Hermione faced a real test of her physical and psychological stamina. After being on the run from a bunch of Snatchers, the gang were taken to Malfoy Manor, where Bellatrix proceeded to torture Hermione using the Cruciatus Curse.
None of the good guys dare use the Killing Curse throughout the events of the movies and books, no matter how high the stakes and how difficult things are. But Ron Weasley is the exception, giving it a go in the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 movie when himself and Hermione look destined to die via Nagini.
Avada Kedavra
It's used to kill people, it's an Unforgivable Curse, and it was Voldemort's favourite, so it's going last.
Firestorm. Firestorm was a spell that created a large ring of fire around the caster's wand. This spell is one of the last and most powerful spells that Albus Dumbledore cast using the elder wand before his death.
The spell that Dolohov hit Hermione with was actually purple: But the Death Eater Hermione had just struck dumb made a sudden slashing movement with his wand; a streak of what looked like purple flame passed right across Hermione's chest.
They are the Killing Curse, Avada Kedavra, the Cruciatus Curse, Crucio, and the Imperius Curse, Imperio.
The Fidelius Charm is extremely ancient and still used to this day. It involves the concealment of information inside a living person. The chosen person, or Secret Keeper, is the only person who is thenceforth capable of revealing the protected information to others, however many previously knew it.
Locomotor Mortis. Also known as the Leg-Locker Curse, this spell is used on Neville by Malfoy, although we don't know the incantation until Hermione whispers it to Ron. They plan to use it on Professor Snape if he attempts anything against Harry during a Quidditch match, but as it turns out, they don't need to.

This unidentified spell (incantation unknown) was used by Death Eater Bellatrix Lestrange during the Battle of the Department of Mysteries in 1996. The spell's hand movement is unknown. Although Bellatrix used it to kill Sirius Black, it probably just makes the victim fall or have a push effect.
Harry makes use of two of the Unforgivable Curses in the books. Dueling with Bellatrix Lestrange, he attempts the Cruciatus curse, with limited results; Bellatrix says that he has to really hate someone to make the Unforgivable Curses work properly, righteous indignation isn't enough.
Malfoy spots Harry and casts a Cruciatus curse; Harry, defending himself, using the Half-Blood Prince's Sectumsempra spell without knowing its effects. To his horror, it gashes Draco's face and chest, spilling his blood everywhere.
The acclaimed author explained that Harry paid tribute to Snape because of “forgiveness and gratitude.” Though Snape bullied Harry, he also saved him.
Voldemort intentionally made six Horcruxes, but when he used Avada Kedavra on Harry, he unintentionally created a seventh Horcrux. Instead of dying, Lily's love for Harry created a counter 'curse' known as Sacrificial Protection and saved Harry.
Avada Kedavra is an Aramaic phrase that means "I will destroy as I speak." Whether the words were chosen to be similar to the Muggle mock incantation "abra cadabra" is uncertain, but seems likely.
