Due to fixed mindsets and baldness stigma of many people, bald people usually get mocked or laughed at, which can be disheartening for them. People also experience a lack of self-confidence and low self-esteem due to this.
A Lower Risk of Cancer
The study found that men who had started to lose their hair before the age of 30 saw a cancer reduction risk of up to 45 percent. This study was quite surprising, and much research has found just the opposite – that bald men are actually more likely to be diagnosed with prostate cancer.
So, for the questions “Do women like bald men?” the overwhelming majority of women gave positive answers. 87.5% of women of different ages and nationalities surveyed find bald men attractive compared to only 12.5% of women, who gave negative answer.
Finding baldness attractive is one thing, but does it affect dating decisions? Largely, both men and women said no. Nearly 71 percent of women and more than 68 percent of men believe their hair loss has no impact on their love lives.
Of the 1,536 men surveyed by researchers, 70% regarded hair as an important part of their image; 62% admitted hair loss affects their self-esteem; 43% said they felt less attractive after hair loss; 22% said baldness had negative effects on their social life; and 21% suffered from resulting feelings of depression.
The study found not only an increased risk of heart disease in older men, but also in men younger than 60. Among those men, baldness raised the risk of heart attack by a full 44 percent.
About 70% of men will lose hair as they get older. And 25% of bald men see first signs of hair loss before age 21. “Recent advances offer a lot of hope in both treating and preventing different types of baldness,” says dermatologist Amy Kassouf, MD.
On average it takes 15-25 years for men to go completely bald. This process can begin at any age. About two thirds of men are either bald or have a balding pattern by the age of 60. In a nutshell, there is no particular age when you can expect to see hair loss.
One popular myth is that hair loss in men is passed down from the mother's side of the family while hair loss in women is passed down from the father's side; however, the truth is that the genes for hair loss and hair loss itself are actually passed down from both sides of the family.

While studies have suggested almost all Caucasian men will eventually face some degree of male pattern baldness -- and around half can expect to lose their hair by middle age -- Asian men, and East Asians in particular, have historically experienced the lowest incidence of hair loss in the world.
There are racial differences, however, in the incidence of male pattern baldness. The highest rates are found among Caucasians, followed by Afro-Caribbeans. Chinese and Japanese men have the lowest rates. For some unknown reason, this form of hair loss is does not occur among Native Americans.
