At this juncture it is useful to take an overview of the content of each of the eight visions.
It is different in every single patient, but some visual conditions are quite common. Many of our patients have nearsightedness (myopia), farsightedness (hyperopia), astigmatism or near-perfect eyesight.
In the Bible, the word vision is more often used as an encounter with God where he imparts special revelation, often intuitively, in dreams, or "in dark sayings." (Num. 12:6) Sometimes visions can be theophanies, where God speaks directly to the visionary (Numbers 12:8).
A vision is something seen in a dream, trance, or religious ecstasy, especially a supernatural appearance that usually conveys a revelation. Visions generally have more clarity than dreams, but traditionally fewer psychological connotations.
A God-given vision points to God!
When someone comes up with a good idea, the temptation or natural byproduct can be glory or honor for the one who came up with it. However, when God gives us a vision, the vision is often something that would be impossible if left simply to our human ability.
Dreams are drifts of the imagination, as if one imaginary clouds in the sky. Visions are scripted efforts to effect change. They occur personally and organizationally.
(See Ezekiel 11:19 and 36:26.) God alone is the source of spiritual eyes and undivided hearts. Only He can make blind eyes see, deaf ears hear, dead taste buds hunger, and hardened hearts soft.
Humans are known as trichromats, meaning they have three kinds of cones that allow them to see red, green, and blue. Cats are also thought to be trichromats, but not in the same way that humans are. A cat's vision is similar to a human who is colour blind.
A “plus” (+) sign in front of the number means you are farsighted, and a “minus” (-) sign means you are nearsighted. These numbers represent diopters, the unit used to measure the correction, or focusing power, of the lens your eye requires. Diopter is often abbreviated "D."
We humans are largely binocular beings. Each eye alone gives us roughly a 130-degree field of vision. With two eyes, we can see nearly 180 degrees. Most of that field is what's called a Cyclopean image -- the single mental picture that a Cyclops might see.
We live fully, now and forever, in the light of Christ. Christly vision is the ability to discern reality in all things -- to see the ideas of Mind's creation. Spiritual discernment -- the wisdom, understanding, intelligence of Mind -- never wears out, is never used up.
A life vision is a big picture and has many components that make up what you want your daily life to look like. These “departments” might include: spiritual connection; family and friends; health and wellness; mental, emotional and personal growth; love and relationships; and career, finance and business.
“I saw a pillar of light exactly over my head, above the brightness of the sun, which descended gradually until it fell upon me.”
God often speaks to us through His Spirit, through prayer. We may not know how to pray, but God's Word tells us His spirit makes intercession for us (Romans 8:26-27). Often through a combination of fasting and prayer, our minds become clearer and our hearts are more sensitive to God.
Precognitive phenomena
Precognitive dreams are the most widely reported occurrences of precognition. Usually, a dream or vision can only be identified as precognitive after the putative event has taken place. When such an event occurs after a dream, it is said to have "broken the dream".
Moses Spoke to God Face to Face
In this context, Moses asked to see God's glory. In essence, God responded, “Alright, but not My face revealed in full glory of My goodness. If that were to happen, you would be so radically changed on every level that no one could relate to you anymore.
Visions. An outpouring of this gift is prophesied in Joel 2:28 and Acts 2:17 shows that early Christians believed this prophecy was fulfilled on the day of Pentecost. Visions tend to be more private experiences than the other gifts. Some researchers expand the definition of visions to include a strongly felt presence.
Both visions and dreams are revelations from the supernatural spirit realm—from God, via the Holy Spirit. They are prophetic in nature and may convey a range of revelations—from things God wants to reveal, communicate, have done, or have materialized in the natural realm through faith and obedience.
He sees you in the Beloved—He sees you in Christ, and He sees the blood that has been shed for you by His dear Son. When God looks at you today, He sees Jesus. Because of this, His thoughts toward you are thoughts of loving-kindness, forgiveness, blessings, and favor.
