Millipedes, also known as “thousand leggers,” are arthropods that often make their way into our homes. Millipedes range from 2.5 to 4 cm long, are brownish in color, are long and slender, and look a lot like worms with legs. They are segmented with 2 pairs of legs per segment.
Maggots will appear in the form of small white worms in the house wiggling about in the food or filth they are found on. Flies will be hovering around filthy areas like garbage and feces and will breed and lay their eggs.
According to Hunker, worms love moisture. They thrive in warm, damp environments, like bathrooms and basements. If your home is moist enough to draw them in, even on non-rainy days, you might want to invest in a dehumidifier, at least for the dampest spaces in your home.

These bed worms can cause skin irritation and allergic reactions in some people.
Answer: What you may have found are carpet beetle larvae. They are characteristically brown, they may look banded with brown and pale stripes, and with long ”hairs” at the tail end. They are slow moving across walls and floors.
During treatment and for a few weeks afterwards, it's also important to follow strict hygiene measures to avoid spreading the threadworm eggs. This includes regularly vacuuming your house and thoroughly washing your bathroom and kitchen.
If the “worms” are limited to your kitchen and are crawling up walls and along ceilings, it's a good bet that they are Indianmeal moth larvae. The other white worms (in that size range) that can be found in kitchens are fly maggots, but those do not have legs. Maggots wiggle along; they can't crawl.
Bed worms find their way into your bed through one of two routes: either they are transported by a human or animal previously exposed to the worms or their eggs, or the eggs were laid in or on the bed by an adult parasite. Fleas and bed bugs are drawn toward beds because their hosts spend significant time there.
Strongyloides and scabies mites are also called parasites. Some people can see scabies mites when they look carefully. When we look at them with the microscope, we see that scabies mites have arms and legs like ticks. Strongyloides look like threadworms.
Most cases are in school-aged children, their family members or caregivers. Pinworms are sometimes called threadworms because they look like tiny pieces of white thread (usually no bigger than a staple).
The best control is to remove as much of the moist mulch around doors and away from the foundation as possible (make a 6" to 12" gap between mulch and house). This reduces their breeding sites and the favorable areas for them. Make certain the door thresholds are well sealed.
Tiny pink, red, brown, or black worms
These 1/8 to 1/4 inches (3 – 6 mm) long bed worms are carpet beetle larvae. They commonly live on clothing or bedding and feed on cotton, leather, wool, fur, and feathers.
Pour straight vinegar into an empty spray bottle and mist well on furniture, carpets, and clothing. If you discover signs of a carpet beetle infestation in a closet or dresser drawers, you may wish to wash clothing stored there in a vinegar and water solution to kill larvae and/or eggs.
Fan Worms are marine segmented worms that are sessile, attached to rocks or sand by their base. The plume of Fan Worms can measure up to 10" in diameter on some species. Fan Worms require excellent water quality. Fan Worms require supplemental feeding with infusoria or foods designed for filter-feeding invertebrates.
Millipedes are usually 1 to 2 inches long with worm-like bodies that are divided into many segments, each containing two pairs of legs. While their name means “thousand legs”, this arthropod doesn't actually have that many (80-400 is typical.)
When disturbed, Portuguese millipedes commonly curl up into a tight spiral (fig. 2 below). Portuguese millipedes were first found in Western Australia in the late 1980's in the Roleystone area. Since their initial discovery in Perth, they have slowly spread across the Darling Scarp.
Potworms are small, white worms that propagate through plants in large numbers. They live in soil, consume decaying matter, and prefer highly acidic soil. For this reason, you are more likely to find pot worms in places that are very moist and have high rainfall.
Other types of worms may be diagnosed in the laboratory from a fresh stool sample. For example, tapeworms are diagnosed by finding worm segments or worm eggs in a stool sample. Other worms are diagnosed by the presence of eggs, larvae or the parasites themselves, in the stool sample.
