People with bad attitudes are described as: “Aggressive, arrogant, belligerent, blunt, callous, critical, cynical, dishonest, distant, envious, guarded, hostile, indifferent, intolerant, pessimistic, prejudiced, prideful, resentful, rude, sad, selfish, suspicious, unemotional, untrusting.”
The definition of a negative attitude, or bad attitude, can be characterized as a general effect or disposition that lacks constructive outcomes. A negative attitude can be characterized by many behaviors. Not every negative person will demonstrate every behavior consistently.

Attacking the credibility and reputation of others, shooting down their ideas, hopes and dreams, and being unsupportive when good things happen to others are indicators that you need to check your attitude. Practice going one full day—or even one hour—without complaining about anything.
Once you begin to recognize the eight attitudes of mindfulness, it becomes much easier for you to put these attitudes of mindfulness — learner's mind, nonjudgmental, acknowledgment, settled, composed, letting be, self-reliant, and self-compassionate — in your activities and with other people.
The three components of attitude are affective, behavioral, and cognitive.

A bad attitude, however, is typically a state of mind, and it has the potential to permeate a workplace and create a negative environment . As a manager, you may need to choose between redirecting behaviour or letting a team member with bad attitude go, rather than risk alienating other employees.
Types of Job Attitudes
A person can have thousands of attitudes, but within the sphere of organizational behavior, researchers focus their attention on three types of work-related attitudes. They include job satisfaction, job involvement, and organizational commitment.
Attitudes are evaluations people make about objects, ideas, events, or other people. Attitudes can be positive or negative. Explicit attitudes are conscious beliefs that can guide decisions and behavior. Implicit attitudes are unconscious beliefs that can still influence decisions and behavior.
Attitude is a specific disposition that combines factors like beliefs, opinions, moods and emotions. Sometimes, attitude is referred to as an outlook or mental state that affects the way people perceive the world around them and the way they experience life, work, relationships and more.
There are four theories that are most often used to describe attitude formation: the social-judgement theory, consistency theory, self-perception theory, and functional theory.
Social attitudes are individual attitudes directed toward social objects. Collective attitudes are individual attitudes so strongly interconditioned by collective contacts that they become highly standardized and uniform within the group.

People with positive attitudes remain hopeful and see the best even in difficult situations. In contrast, those with negative attitudes may be more pessimistic and disagreeable, and typically expect the worst outcome in tough situations.
