Mesomorphs and endomorphs both gain weight quickly, whereas ectomorphs find it more difficult to gain weight. Another factor is muscle gain. Mesomorphs and endomorphs gain muscle quickly, while ectomorphs do not. An endomorph would have a rounder or curvier figure than a mesomorph.
A rectangle or tomboy body type is characterized by an even distribution of weight and few curves. This body type is the most common and is typically considered the healthiest. Rectangle-shaped people are less likely to develop obesity, heart disease, or diabetes.
Endomorphs body type
Endomorphs typically have higher levels of body fat and have a difficult time losing weight and they also have a wider physique when compared to ectomorphs and mesomorphs.
Ectomorphs are long and lean, with little body fat, and little muscle. They have a hard time gaining weight.
Bodies come in all different shapes and sizes, and not all of them fall into the “skinny” category or even the “curvy” category. From naturally thin to muscular to soft and round, no two bodies are designed the exact same way.
Endomorph Body Type
The endomorph is the hardest body type to have in terms of managing your weight and overall fitness, but to get a more balanced physique, you should focus on developing your shoulders and stripping away excess fat from your lower body.
Apple Shape
Abdominal obesity is probably the most dangerous of all, and apple body shape is considered at the highest risk for health issues compared to the other body types. Larger waists can mean higher risk of heart disease. It can also mean higher risk of Type 2 diabetes.
In fact, for men and women alike, ecto-mesomorphs tend to have the “fitness model” look. Often muscular with V-shaped torsos (think: wide upper back, developed chest and shoulders, narrow waist), ecto-mesomorphs are lean and agile, with strong-looking (but not bulky) arms and legs.
People with an endomorph body type may gain weight easier and take longer to lose it because they tend to have a slow metabolism, low muscle mass, and high amounts of body fat.
Apple Shape
Also called a “beer belly,” it means you have more fat stored around your stomach, while your lower body stays thin.
Hourglass body shape is the most popular and desired body shape by women for which they practise extensive exercises and workouts. This body shape is all about equal hips and bust measurements and waists narrower than bust and hips. One of the most common body shapes is oval body shape.
An endomorph is usually pear-shaped and more round. They store fat throughout the body especially the arms and legs. It is harder for an endomorph to put on muscle, but it is very easy for them to put up fat. The issue with this body type is about making wrong nutrition decisions like eating too much than they burn.
Endomorphs may also be "skinny fat." That means that they have a reasonable Body Mass Index (BMI), but do not have good muscle definition. They may not look fat, but they're not toned either. Most likely, those around a skinny-fat person would not describe them as being out of shape.
“An endomorph has to be the strictest about their diet, including total calories and how many calories come from carbs, but if they do those things, they can slim down,” says Catudal.
Hourglass frames
Hourglass silhouettes are coveted in beauty magazines and pop culture, but it's actually the least common body shape.
Pear-shaped people are significantly healthier than those with apple-shaped bodies. Fat deposited on the hips is less likely to travel around the body, reducing the risk of heart disease. Further, the risk of stroke and diabetes is not elevated by a pear-shaped body.
Mesomorph Body Type. A mesomorph has a large bone structure, large muscles and a naturally athletic physique. Mesomorphs are the best body type for bodybuilding.
Top hourglass body shape
Considered to be the most attractive body shape, this is very similar to hourglass body shape, except that in this case the curves are more defined.
IT'S long been thought that beauty is in the eye of the beholder but science believes model, actress and TV presenter Kelly Brook is still the world's most perfect figure.
The abdomen is one of the most stubborn areas for fat and can be challenging to reduce. There are many reasons for this. First, abdominal fat tends to be more visceral than subcutaneous (or “belly” fat). This means it's located more profoundly in your body, around internal organs such as your liver and kidneys.
Endomorphs have softer bodies with curves. They have a wide waist and hips and large bones, though they may or may not be overweight. Their weight is often in their hips, thighs, and lower abdomen. Endomorphs often have lots of body fat and muscle and tend to gain weight easily.
Endomorphs generally carry more body fat, while mesomorphs are generally leaner and more naturally fit by comparison. An endomorph's body tends to be slightly chubby and softer, whereas that of a mesomorph is more muscular and harder.
Mesomorph refers to body types with a naturally high muscle-to-fat ratio. People with this body type typically respond well to weight training, finding it easier than other people to build and maintain muscle.
A person can also have a combination of these types. For instance, as someone loses weight, they can often shift from being purely an endomorph to more of a mesomorph. By losing fat and gaining muscle, their body starts to show a more muscular frame.
