Stars like Jake Gyllenhaal and Brad Pitt have admitted to going days without a shower, as well as
“Some celebrities do not want to wash their bodies every day with soap, as it strips natural oils from the skin. Some do not see it as necessary,” Dr. Elizabeth Mullans, a board-certified dermatologist at Uptown Dermatology, tells me.
Many doctors say a daily shower is fine for most people. (More than that could start to cause skin problems.) But for many people, two to three times a week is enough and may be even better to maintain good health.
Kutcher, 43, added, "I wash my armpits and my crotch daily, and nothing else ever. I got a bar of Lever 2000 that delivers every time." The habit also extends to the pair's two children: 6-year-old daughter Wyatt and 4-year-old son Dimitri. "When I had children, I also didn't wash them every day," Kunis said candidly.
Jake Gyllenhaal has revealed he doesn't do it all that much. "More and more I find bathing to be less necessary, at times," he said in a recent interview with Vanity Fair. "[I] think that there's a whole world of not bathing that is also really helpful for skin maintenance, and we naturally clean ourselves."
NOT INTO SHOWERING
Ashton, who was almost on the Virgin Galactic flight, confessed on the podcast: "I wash my armpits and my crotch daily, and nothing else ever. I got a bar of Lever 2000 that delivers every time.
He continued, "The women in my life, including my mother, have all said, 'Hey, your natural smell smells, one, like a man and, two, smells like you. '" Despite his stance on deodorant, he says that he takes multiple showers a day and brushes his teeth up to five times a day.
His personal hygiene, however, has been the topic of much speculation and debate over the years, despite his obvious professional success. Brad Pitt reportedly dislikes showers and has given up soap and antiperspirants to reduce his environmental impact.
While Kunis washes her face “twice a day,” she doesn't use soap on her entire body every day. “I wash my armpits and my crotch daily, and nothing else ever,” the Bad Moms star explained to Shepard, 46, and Padman, 33. “I got a bar of Lever 2000 that delivers every time. Nothing else.
Showering too often can affect the barrier function of the skin. Healthy skin has a natural layer of oil and bacteria that help keep it from drying out. On the flip side, not showering enough can cause body odor, acne, and even skin infections.
"I recommend showering every other day, or anywhere from 2 to 3 times a week," she says. Doing so is greatly beneficial to your skin. "Showering every day may be bad for your skin because it can remove essential oils and dry out your skin," she says.
When you skip showering for a couple days, it can lead to your body releasing potentially unpleasant odors. Dr. Muhammad says, “Body odors form naturally as a result of bacteria on the skin breaking sweat down into acid. By not washing while continuing to sweat, bad smells will just get worse and worse.”
But the topic of celebrities not washing isn't totally new, in fact even the likes of Julia Roberts have been known to embrace the stink. During an episode of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" set to air Wednesday, the bubbly blond singer admitted that she doesn't always brush her teeth.
While baths may not be a daily occurrence in their household, the pair do believe in washing their faces every day. "I do have a tendency to throw some water on my face after a workout to get all the salts out," Kutcher admitted. Kunis said, "I do wash my face twice a day."
“I take a bath every single night. I got really into taking them when I was 22 and shooting Emma in London,” she says. “I fell in love with the ritual of it—lighting a candle and having a cup of tea or a whiskey, depending on my day.” For Paltrow, bathing before bed helps her to decompress and “wash the day off”.

Not usually one to reveal much about her beauty routine, Julia Roberts was once asked by Oprah Winfrey if she prefers to wear natural deodorant. The actress surprisingly responded with: “I don't actually use deodorant. I don't like to share that with a lot of people, but it's just never been my thing.”
Mila Kunis elaborated by saying that they don't shower their children regularly and that they have a standard "If you can see the dirt on them, clean them, otherwise, there's no point, I didn't have hot water growing up as a child, so I didn't shower much anyway."
