Colors like red and orange increase anxiety and stress, sometimes even fear. Red and orange are associated with an emergency that can elicit images of emergency vehicles with their lights and sirens on.
Red is a controversial and much-talked about color, and for all its interior design potential, is considered to be the most stressful color. 'It's the one color that struggle to live with in large doses,' explains Karen Haller. Red is not a particularly restful color.
Green – Quiet and restful, green is a soothing color that can invite harmony and diffuse anxiety. Blue – A highly peaceful color, blue can be especially helpful for stress management because it can encourage a powerful sense of calm. Purple – In many cultures, shades of violet represent strength, wisdom and peace.
Yet “red” was also the most frequent color listed for contempt, fear, and surprise; and “green” was also the most frequent color for disgust; “yellow” also for joy; and “blue” also for pride.
The established convention of red for arteries, blue for veins, and yellow for nerves aids students of anatomy to orient themselves quickly and effectively. In vivo, however, these structures are not so clearly defined.

Warm colors like red, yellow and orange evoke higher arousal emotions, such as love, passion, happiness, and anger. Cool colors, like blue, green and purple are linked to calmness, sadness and indifference. Colors can trigger these arousal states and emotions.
When it comes to depression colors, gray and blue tend to be high on the list of those associated with low mood. In a 2010 study using the Manchester Color Wheel, experts found gray was the color people pointed to when asked to reflect feelings of depression.

Yellow Is Energetic
It can seem fresh, intense, overwhelming, or even brash and forceful in its energy.
Blue light therapy is often claimed to help mood disorders and anxiety perhaps by influencing the biological clock. Studies for the same are underway. Some studies have reported that people with anxiety were more likely to associate their mood with the color gray.

“Red packs a fiery punch that makes it difficult to relax,” he said. New York designer Rayman Boozer finds bright red hues vibrant and exciting but also challenging to incorporate into a soothing design.
Studies have shown that blue and green can create a calming atmosphere; orange and yellow can stimulate appetite; red and pink can inspire passion and energy; while purple can boost creativity and productivity.

With leukophobia, seeing or thinking of the color white causes extreme fear and anxiety. In some people, these feelings become overwhelming, leading to panic attacks. If the color white makes you feel this way, there's no reason to feel self-conscious.
For instance, light purples are associated with light-hearted, romantic energies, while darker shades can represent sadness and frustration. In some parts of Europe, purple is associated with death and mourning.
The results revealed that the color RED was most commonly associated with negative emotion and emotion-laden words, whereas YELLOW and WHITE were associated with positive emotion and emotion-laden words, respectively.
