South America is one of the largest cattle producers, with countries like Brazil, Uruguay, and Argentina ranking high in the world's cattle-producing nations.
There are many different types of Japanese Wagyu beef, with Kobe beef being the most popular. You can purchase Wagyu beef in various cuts, such as Wagyu ribeye and Wagyu striploin steaks. Not all Wagyu beef is from Japan. Wagyu beef is produced all over the globe, including here in Canada.
Angus Cattle
Angus beef has become all the rage in recent years thanks to its well-marbled meat, which typically earns Prime or Choice grades from the USDA and is usually the highest-quality meat available in grocery stores.
Quality. It's no secret that Australian beef is some of the highest quality beef in the world.
The United States was the largest producer of beef in the world in 2022 followed by Brazil & China. The United States, Brazil and China accounted for roughly 51% of the world's beef production. The United States accounted for 21.7% of the world's beef production in 2022.
It's no wonder our country has a reputation for producing some of the world's finest beef. New Zealand beef is grass-fed, highly nutritious (packed full of Vitamin B, Omega 3 and Zinc), and full of flavour.
Originally hailing from Japan, Wagyu is the most most intensely marbled breed of cattle in the world. In Japan, where Wagyu is considered a national treasure, raising this special breed has been done with craft and care over generations of farmers.
Beef cattle are reared outdoors in all Australian states and territories. Southern areas with good pasture have herds with a high density of stock and northern areas, with less feed, have herds with a low density of stock.

New Zealand's grass-fed cows produce some of the world's best quality milk. The quality of the milk cows produce is directly related to their diet and environment. So it's no wonder that New Zealand's pasture-fed cows, feasting on our lush green grass, produce some of the best milk in the world.
USA. The country is at number one in cows' milk production, as in India a significant portion of milk production comes from buffaloes. Many of the larger dairy farms in the US have more than 15,000 cows each.
Australian beef is highly regarded for its exceptional quality and is one of the largest beef exporters globally. From world-class steaks to Aussie beef jerky, the farming culture, practices and exceptional land and air quality help to produce some of the best beef in the world.
In Australia, around 97% of cattle is grass fed thanks to our plentiful grazing pastures. Many steak aficionados prefer the taste of grass-fed beef as it tends to be more flavoursome and has a classic “meaty” profile.
The Kiwi-Aussie rivalry is often described as a “sibling rivalry” and that's mainly due to the two countries essentially teasing each other. There will often be stereotyping, for example, Australians see New Zealand as “behind the times”, while New Zealanders stereotype Aussies to be rude.
Ultimately, whether you prefer the sweet and buttery flavour of US grain-fed beef, the more varied and interesting flavours of Australian grass-fed beef or the flavour profile of Australian grain-fed beef will come down to your own personal taste.
The US has a competitor, though: Argentina. This country takes pride in his steaks, as they are often described as the best steaks in the world. Argentina also exports its meat all over the world to produce high-quality steaks, whereas London often sources its cuts from Ireland and Scotland.
Central Queensland
Central Queensland comprises the major rural centres of Emerald, Gayndah, Moranbah, Rockhampton and Taroom – where beef cattle is the major livestock enterprise in the region. The region recorded an average rolling one-year median price per hectare growth rate of seven percent per quarter in 2021.
Japan easily topped Australia's largest beef export customers last year, accounting for 214,305t of Australian chilled and frozen beef during 2022.
The Williams family, of Williams Cattle Company in South Australia, have the title of owning Australia's biggest farming aggregation — the 2.37 million-hectare Anna Creek and The Peake Stations, covering an area bigger than Slovenia.
