Tree Nuts: Black Noir has an allergy to tree nuts. Queen Maeve uses this to her advantage by force feeding him an Almond Joy, giving her and Starlight an opportunity to escape. When fed something with tree nuts, he immediately goes into anaphylactic shock and requires a EpiPen shot to stabilize himself.
Black Noir grew increasingly psychotic as he waited to realise his purpose. He then decided to orchestrate Homelander's descent into villainy by framing Homelander for various crimes, including rape and cannibalism.
If not administered on time, Black Noir could suffer severe brain damage. As seen where after he was fed an Almond Joy and prevented from using his epipen, Black Noir suffered severe brain damage and was reduced to a vegetative state.
During Payback's fight against Soldier Boy, Black Noir received catastrophic brain injuries that left him both unable to verbally communicate and saddled with bizarre hallucinations of cartoon animals.
In the aftermath of the Nicaragua operation, Black Noir is found with half of his face burned and his left eye damaged. The attack also rendered him seemingly unable to speak, explaining why the character never talks in the current timeline.
Noir lost his ability to think properly and speak after Soldier Boy violently beat part of his brain in and stuck his face on top of a burning car.
In the television series adaption, Noir, portrayed by Nathan Mitchell and Fritzy-Klevans Destine, is instead depicted as a brain-damaged black Supe named Earving, who is loyal to Vought CEO Stan Edgar.
Even after being a ruthless hunter, he spares the life of the little kid. Later in the season, he is seen crying as he finds out about the compound V news, which hints that he might have had a good relationship with his parents and guardians, and is now disheartened thinking that they probably used him.
THE BOYS' Black Noir is obviously supposed to be a parody or alternate version of Batman. Just like every member of The Seven (other than Translucent).
Upon hearing of Soldier Boy's return, Black Noir decides to go AWOL, digging the tracking chip out of his arm in the process.
Even though Payback is able to take down Soldier Boy, he brutally disfigures and scars Black Noir so that he will never be able to take his mask off again.
Queen Maeve
Maeve has an Amazonian look and super strength—it's clear that her parallel is Wonder Woman.
Later, we discover that Black Noir was goaded into attacking Soldier Boy and selling him to the Russians by a young Stan Edgar (Giancarlo Esposito), an event that left Black Noir mutilated and nearly lobotomized.
On a side note, the WWII version of Soldier Boy is an actual villainous parody of Captain America while the present-day Soldier Boy is a comedic spoof of Captain America. It has been noted that Jensen Ackles is portraying the original Soldier Boy instead of the current, incompetent one.
Black Noir is an ISTP personality type. He is practical and has a desire to understand the way certain things work. Valuing freedom, he can't stand feeling controlled. He is quick at processing large amounts of information in one go and he has an exceptional memory for details.
When Black Noir confronted Soldier Boy for his actions in front of the rest of the team, the Payback leader didn't appreciate that and beat him down before threatening to kill him if he moved out of the line again. Stan Edgar then informed Black Noir Vought was on board with taking Soldier Boy out of the game.
Starlight is a parody of both Doctor Light and Stargirl as well Mary Marvel costume with little Powergirl-influenced outfit.
However, years of treating his target like a friend made him go insane and commit various atrocities while dressed as Homelander to manipulate Vought into giving him the order to kill Homelander and take his place.
She mentions that Black Noir has a peanut allergy. She also keeps him from using his epipen.
In the comics: He is a slightly more powerful clone of Homelander that Vought created to kill him if it ever became necessary. That's why he has to hide his face and isn't allowed to talk. He also is not allowed to use the more obvious powers that he shares with Homelander ie flying, laser eyes etc.
And in the penultimate episode of the second season (Episode 7, "Butcher, Baker, Candlestick Maker"), we actually do see a part of his what appears to be his scarred face after a big blowout with Maeve and Starlight.
There, he is greeted by imaginary cartoon characters who come alive out of the eatery's wall. Apparently, Black Noir has been seeing these anthropomorphic cartoon characters since he was 9, possibly even younger, and since then he's turned to them for comfort in times of distress.
Nathan Mitchell expresses his thoughts of his character Black Noir. He describes basically a bad ass assassin with mystery. However non-verbal, socially awkward, and unable to understand non-verbal social cues. I think Black Noir is on the Spectrum of autism.
While it is possible he ages normally, Black Noir has a healing factor, a power that typically slows aging in various superhero comics. In The Boys, supes aren't born with their powers. Instead, they gain them when they take a dose of Compound V.
The grand finale of The Boys comic book series confirms that there is only one hero who is actually stronger than Homelander, and that's his (even more) evil clone, Black Noir. Created to be an upgraded version of Homelander, Black Noir proves his superiority in the final battle between these two deranged powerhouses.
