Red: Passion, Love, Anger. Orange: Energy, Happiness, Vitality. Yellow: Happiness, Hope, Deceit. Green: New Beginnings, Abundance, Nature. Blue: Calm, Responsible, Sadness.
Notice how colors can mean very different things - it is not that the colors themselves have meaning, it is that we have culturally assigned meanings to them. For example, red means warmth because of the color of fire. Likewise, it means anger because of the increased redness of the face when it flushes with blood.
Each color can trigger a range of emotional responses. But some common triggers for each color are blue and stability, red and passion, yellow and optimism, green and healing, orange and energy, purple and luxury, and pink and softness.
Given its supremely vibrant hue, yellow is associated with joy, happiness, and humor.
Colours can say a lot about you. Warm colours (reds, yellows, oranges) evoke feelings of creativity, friendliness, and passion, while cool colours (blues, greens, purples) represent maturity, peace, and serenity.
There are four basic personality types, each with a color that reflects their main characteristics: Dominant Red, Planner Blue, Charismatic Yellow, and Stable Green.
In color psychology, grey represents neutrality and balance. Its color meaning likely comes from being the shade between white and black. However, grey does carry some negative connotations, particularly when it comes to depression and loss. Its absence of color makes it dull.
Light Yellow for Happiness
There's a reason yellow is associated with cheeriness. "This yellow has a subtle, luminous quality that feels like warm sun rays and awakens all five senses," Kim says. "Yellow is a natural source of positive energy and sparks feelings of happiness."
Grey. According to color psychology, the color grey implies a dark state of mind, a colorless and monotonous life; grey is also associated with misery and depression, so it is easy to see why it is a color that is known to cause anxiety.
In Europe and America, grey is the color most associated with boredom, loneliness and emptiness. It is associated with rainy days and winter. Silver symbolizes rest.
The results of the RGB colour model revealed that guilt was most commonly associated with red, black, green, and violet colours. However, the colours of immoral behaviours were much darker than the colours of environmentally unfriendly behaviours.
“Red” was indicated among the top three colors for anger, followed by jealousy, fear, and envy, respectively (Figure 2). The intensity of “red” for anger was high, whereas the intensity for “red” given to the other emotions was low-moderate (Table 2).
Research studies discovered red to be the best color light to help you sleep, because it increases production of melatonin as well as full darkness. On the other end of the spectrum, blue is the worst. Despite being a calm-inducing color on most occasions, blue is not suitable for lighting a bedroom.
Blue the Color of Peace
As a primary color (and the most popular color on the spectrum), blue is a building block for many other colors and shades, but in its purest form, blue represents peace and tranquility.
Red: Excitement, energy, passion, love, desire, speed, strength, power, heat, aggression, danger, fire, blood, war, violence, all things intense and passionate.
RED: High Energy and Strength
Red, like most warm colors, has an invigorating and exciting visual effect and is one of the top colors that represent strength. It oozes with high energy and vitality, bringing to mind primal elements like fire and blood.
Blue. Though blue is a very basic and indeed a classic color, it is also a color that is very soothing to the mind and helps to reduce feelings of anxiety and stress.
Red is a warm color associated with passion, love, anger and heightened emotions. It's easy to see why—blood is red and when our hearts are pounding and our emotions are soaring sky high, that red hue is often visible through our skin. Red is primal; red can be dangerous.
Blue – A highly peaceful color, blue can be especially helpful for stress management because it can encourage a powerful sense of calm.
Lavender: A lavender flower represents beauty, solitude and admiration.

When it comes to depression colors, gray and blue tend to be high on the list of those associated with low mood. In a 2010 study using the Manchester Color Wheel, experts found gray was the color people pointed to when asked to reflect feelings of depression.
The color blue represents both the sky and the sea and is associated with open spaces, freedom, intuition, imagination, inspiration, and sensitivity. Blue also represents meanings of depth, trust, loyalty, sincerity, wisdom, confidence, stability, faith, and intelligence.
The color purple is often associated with royalty, nobility, luxury, power, and ambition. Purple also represents meanings of wealth, extravagance, creativity, wisdom, dignity, grandeur, devotion, peace, pride, mystery, independence, and magic.
Brown is often seen as solid, much like the earth, and it's a color often associated with resilience, dependability, security, and safety. Feelings of loneliness, sadness, and isolation. In large quantities, it can seem vast, stark, and empty, like an enormous desert devoid of life.
