They play their favorite sports, go for North Pole strolls and some even share wishes around a toasty campfire until it's time to prepare to fly home! Others may practice their crafting skills to test out in your home the very next day.
Christmas Elves spend their days keeping an eye on children for Santa, spreading kindness and fun while thinking up new ways to get into mischief.
A Christmas elf's tasks include making toys as Christmas gifts, taking care of the reindeer, baking cookies, making candy, preparing Santa's sleigh, and assisting Santa with other tasks. One of the primary tasks of Christmas elves is to make toys all year long.
The only time they go on vacation is when they fly from the North Pole to see the kids to watch them to make sure they're being behaved.
Candy, pies and cakes galore, Scout Elves love eating sweets, snacks and more! You can often find the Scout Elves visiting Mrs. Claus' Sweet Shop™ to whip up delicious desserts exclusively available at the North Pole, but did you know sweet treats are only one of many foods the elves munch on?
Interests/Hobbies: Hunting, travelling, making friends, drinking, reading.
As the story goes, elves arrive around Thanksgiving and keep watch of children up until Christmas Eve. Every night during this time, elves fly to the North Pole to report to the big guy, ya know, Santa, about the kids' naughty or niceness, then return to a new spot each morning.
Since elves live for so long it is widely believed that they do not celebrate birthdays.
What is Elf on a Shelf? Started by mother-daughter duo Carol Aebersold and Chanda Bell, the Elf on the Shelf rules are simple: The Scout Elf watches over your family during the day, and then checks in with Santa each night to reveal who is being naughty and who is being nice.
Papa Elf : You can bake cookies in a tree. Papa Elf : As you can imagine, it's, uh, dangerous having an oven in an oak tree during the dry season. Tree Elf : I want to make shoes! Papa Elf : But the third job, some call it, uh, "the show" or "the big dance," it's the profession that every elf aspires to.
Noun. elven (plural elvens) Originally, a female elf, a fairy, a nymph; (by extension) any elf. [
By age eight, kids begin to acknowledge the unlikeliness of one man travelling the world in a single night. The good news? If you started the tradition of Elf on the Shelf in your household, you can likely send the elf into early retirement around your child's eighth Christmas.
Santa advises that no family member touch their Elf on the Shelf, but he does describe a few rare instances when an adult may use tongs or potholders to help an elf in an urgent situation. Parents: read on to learn about special, few and far between cases where emergency help will be required.
Elves, at least the Eldar, have a pregnancy that lasts about a year. By the age of 1, Elves can speak, walk and dance. Puberty and full height are attained at around their fiftieth to one hundredth year, when they stop aging physically.
The Elf on the Shelf concept provides a fun way for kids to interact with Santa (and of course, an elf). For many families, this tradition works to heighten holiday excitement between Thanksgiving and Christmas and provide a creative way for parents and kids to play a several weeks-long game of hide-and-seek together.
We think Elf is one of the more family-friendly Christmas movies out there. It should be something kids ages 6 and up can handle in most cases. There are a few issues as noted above, but if these do not concern your family: enjoy Elf together this holiday season!
7. Children are not allowed to touch them. Elves are very fragile, and if they are touched by human children they lose their magic and ability to communicate with Santa.
Leave a note!
One popular way to bid farewell is to have your elf leave a special, personal message for your kid, whether it's a typewritten note or a message spelled out in candy or plastic letters on the fridge or on snow-painted window or mirror.
An Elf for Christmas is just for Christmas. On Christmas Eve you can pack away Elf in his box until next year. Or as you tell the children – Elves need to go back to the North Pole on Christmas Eve to join their friends in sweeping up the leftover wrapping paper and start the toymaking for next year!
Parents need to know that although Elf has some potty language and mild swearing ("pissed," "hell," "damn," etc.) and a few references to bodily functions, it's family friendly at its core.
They are very interested in painting, music, tailoring, sculpture and poetry among other things. Any way to express yourself attracts a dark elf who follows the path of Passion, and the customs of other races have any amount of ways to do it - the reason why Sybarites are much more cosmopolitan than other dark elves.
