Do male and female soldiers sleep in the same barracks? By rule: No. They have their own barracks. However its very easy to get away with and a very common theme in the Army.

Punishment For Adultery Under The UCMJ
The maximum punishment for adultery, defined in the Uniform Code of Military Justice as Extramarital Sexual Conduct, is a dishonorable discharge, forfeiture of all pay and allowances, and confinement for up to a year.
There are similar rules for your boyfriend in the barracks. Girls are allowed to visit men in the barracks, but you cannot spend the night.

Keep busy and stay active.
The more fulfilled you feel, the better you will handle separations and difficult times. Participate in social outings and recreational or civic groups. Connect with other military spouses through your local Family Readiness Program, or Military OneSource's Blog Brigade.
As of writing this, the Air Force has the highest number of active service females in the US armed forces. But that's not to say that other branches of the Army are not female-friendly.
If you want to use tampons or pads when backpacking, you'll need to pack them out. Never bury them because animals dig them up, eat them and can get seriously sick.
DON'T: Throw tampons or pads into pit toilets
Tampons and pads are trash, so toss them in trash cans, not into pit or composting toilets.
