What is Nike SB? Nike's foray into the world of skateboarding began in 1997 with a new line of sneakers aimed at skateboarders. With a market already loyal to brands like Emerica, Vans and brands that helped grow the scene, the line failed to take off amongst the skateboarding community.
Special Project (SP) are sneakers created as part of NikeLab releases and also some other special collabs. They are made of one of the highest quality for Nike, and are really as its name suggests, special.
Nike SB is a leader in skate shoe technology but they don't stop there. Classic sneakers made to skate in such as the Dunk, Blazer, and Bruin can be found here, as well as pro model shoes like the Janoski, Nyjah, Shane.
Traditionally, SB Dunks have more padding and Zoom Air technology in the insoles. The SB Dunk low in particular generally has an extra padded “fat” tongue. Non-SB Dunks (or “regular” Dunks) tend to use very little padding. Additionally, most GRs (General Releases) tend to use a stiff, plasticky leather.
Nike SB was formed in 2002. Rather than making the best possible shoes for skateboarding, SB and Sandy Bodecker sought to understand the landscape, the ecosystem, and the personalities driving it.
By the mid-'90s, the Nike Dunk had become a cult favorite amongst the skateboarding community, thanks to its superior cushioning, support and traction.
Supply and demand, hype, and collaborations increase the price. They cost so much because people are willing to pay if they see the value in the shoe. Nike SB Dunk Supreme Stars resells for 630% more than the retail price.
In terms of fit, the Nike SB Ishod is quite tight to the beginning, but will loosen up a bit over time. So if you prefer a snug fit, stick with your normal size and if you like it a little looser, go a half size up.
In 1971 Massimo Osti, the revolutionary designer internationally recognized as the “godfather of sportswear”, founded Chester Perry brand, renamed into C.P. Company in 1978.
OG: OG is probably one of those sneaker terms you have heard before, it stands for “Original” – although, as aforementioned, it once stood for “Original Gangster.” The term OG may be used to refer to the earliest release of a silhouette, a classic colorway, or a faithful reissue.
That DC is the logo of DC Shoes which was designed by Ken Block in 1993. The official story is that D and C were the first names of the first skaters sponsored by the company, Danny Way and Colin McKay.
If you want to get super specific, there are five kinds of Dunks: A high and low-top version of both the SB Dunk and “regular” Dunk, and a mid-top version that is exclusive to the Nike SB line.
For almost a decade, Nike's skateboarding sub-label have collaborated with their Jordan Brand division to craft basketball sneakers made to be skated in.
So, what does DS mean in shoes? DS stands for "Deadstock" and refers to shoes that have never been used or worn but may be from a previous season or model. It's a popular term in the sneaker world and highly coveted by collectors and enthusiasts.
If worn casually every day, most Nikes will last between 1-3 years. Hard activity like running or other sports will lower the lifespan to around a year. In storage, the materials used will determine how quickly the sneakers age.

Nike recognized the signs of the times: A young team around designer Peter Moore, who was already responsible for the Jordan 1, created the Nike Dunk in 1985, the latest stroke of the Nike basketball family.
Nike SB is NIKE, Inc.'s skateboarding subdivision. Founded in March 2002 and formerly led by the late Sandy Bodecker, Nike SB is often credited for modern-day sneaker collecting because of its limited, concept-driven releases.
The Panda Dunk colorway is so basic that anyone that wants to get into dunks without committing to an expensive limited pair can grab them and call it a day. The black and white color scheme pretty much goes with anything!
