Getting a full licence
To apply for your full (unrestricted) licence, you must: have held your P2 licence for at least 24 months. prove your identity. pass an eyesight test. pay the licence fee, unless you're eligible for a concession.
A Multi Combination (MC) licence is required for a heavy combination vehicle with more than one trailer. A Multi Combination (MC) licence is generally required for the following driving roles: Interstate & Intrastate Driving. Linehaul / Change Over Driving. Road Train / Long Haul Driving.
Class R REGULAR; ANY VEHICLE WITH A GROSS VEHICLE WEIGHT OR GROSS COMBINATION WEIGHT RATING OF 26,000 POUNDS OR LESS, TRANSPORTING NO MORE THAN 15 PASSENGERS INCLUDING THE DRIVER AND TRANSPORTING NO HAZARDOUS MATERIALS IN QUANTITIES REQUIRING PLACARDING UNDER DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (DOT) REGULATIONS.
P1 and P2 probationary licences Victoria has a two stage probationary driver licence. A P1 licence is issued for the first 12 months followed by a P2 licence for three years. If you are 21 or over when you obtain your probationary licence you will become a P2 licence holder.

You can find your customer reference number in the top right corner on the front of your driver licence. It is marked as your licence number, authority number or reference number.
Your document number identifies your specific driver's license or identification document card. Unlike your driver's license number or ID number, which identifies you, your document number is attached to that specific license or ID card.

If your licence has expired by more than 6 months but less than 5 years you will need to attend a Driver and Vehicle Service (DVS) centre, regional DoT office or agent and: provide primary and secondary proof of identification; complete a Driver's Licence Application Form (DLA1);
If you are under 21, you must have your learner permit for at least 12 months before applying for a driver's licence. You must also have a minimum of 120 hours of supervised driving experience, including a minimum of 10 hours night driving. Other rules apply for drivers aged 21 and over.
If you are a probationary driver you must display P plates whenever you drive.
