* 86..."please enter your password" etc. 5 digit password, you have no new voicemail? You can't use *86 to call on another phone - it will connect to the voicemail of the calling phone.
Basic Voicemail
Visual Voicemail users can check voicemail using the *86 method in addition to using the Visual Voicemail app. The Voicemail Notification option is controlled through the Visual Voicemail app, not via Personal Options, and isn't adjustable.
Here's how to listen to your voicemail on Android: Open the Phone app. Go to the keypad and press and hold '1'. This will call your voicemail and you can listen to your voice messages.
To use Slydial, dial 267-SLYDIAL (267-759-3425). When prompted, enter the US mobile phone number for the person you are trying to call.
Using Android
On an Android phone, open your phone app and enter your voicemail provider's phone number on the dial pad. Alternatively, press and hold the 'one' key to speed-dial your voicemail box. If prompted, enter the voicemail password for your voicemail phone service.
If you are using the old basic voicemail (dial in with *86) the only way to delete is one at a time. Fortunately, you can press "7" during the playback to delete (it will say "Message erased, next voice message", then begin playing the next one, at which time yo can press "7" again to delete that message.
Set up your Verizon voicemail
Once you have a phone, follow these steps: Dial the number *86 on your phone. If you're using someone else's device, dial your 10-digit phone number. Press the # key to interrupt the default greeting when it starts.
Among the handful of things that might automatically send your calls to voicemail is your phone's Do Not Disturb mode, blocked numbers, call forwarding, Bluetooth connections, and your phone's SIM card. Whether you accidentally activated any of these phone features or forgot you turned them on, don't fret.
Change the Caller ID Settings on Your Phone
Both Android and iOS devices let you hide your caller ID, making you show up as No Caller ID or Private to everyone you call. If you want to temporarily unblock your number after changing these settings, dial *82 before the number you want to call.
To bar all incoming calls and texts:
Dial *35*<4-digit code># on your mobile phone and press the call key.
To deactivate, dial *87. Block your name and number from appearing on caller ID. Outgoing calls will be displayed as Private, Anonymous or Unavailable.
Call return (*69) automatically dials your last incoming call, whether the call was answered, unanswered or busy. Call within 30 minutes, during which you can still make and receive calls. To deactivate while waiting for the party you are trying to reach to become available, dial *89.

Checking your landline voicemail with another phone usually requires the same easy steps. To check voicemail from another phone, you usually need to call your number, press the star or pound key (depending on your carrier), and enter your pin.
Tap and hold the 1 key on the dialer keypad. You will notice a small voicemail icon below the number on that key. All other numbers on the keypad can be set to speed-dial any phone number you choose, but the 1 key is reserved for voicemail.
Often, a software glitch is easily solved just by restarting the device or the program that's misbehaving. If you've gotten this far and your voicemail still doesn't work, either turn your iPhone off, wait a minute and then turn it back on again, or close the Phone app and then start the Phone app a second time.
