Furnished breeds (FF) or (Ff) that show variation at the Shedding Locus.
Furnished breeds (FF) or (Ff) that show variation at the Shedding Locus.
In the world of designer dog breeding, especially in those doodle breeds where it's all about the low-shedding coat, you will often see the F1, F2, or F3. In dog breeding, these “F” designations refer to the specific generation of cross-bred offspring that an individual dog or litter belongs to.
F2 generation dogs are a cross between two F1 hybrids, they are the offsets resulting from the mating of two F1 hybrids. For example, a Labradoodle with parents who are also Labradoodles.
A F1 puppy is the result of a purebred retriever that was bred to a purebred poodle. A F1b is taking a dog that is itself a 50%-50% retriever/poodle cross (F1) and breeding it back to a “parent” breed (by “parent” breed, we mean either a retriever or a poodle, not its actual parent).
The “F” stands for “filial” and is simply a way to denote generation. So an F1 Goldendoodle means “First Generation Goldendoodle.” This is the initial cross, so one parent would be a purebred Golden Retriever and the other a purebred Poodle.
The letter 'F' stands for 'filial', which means that the dog is crossbreed and not purebred. The numbers '1' and '2' refer to their generation. Lastly, the letters 'b' and 'bb' refer to backcross and backcross-backcross generations, respectively. For example, an F1b Doodle is a first-generation backcross Doodle.
D (Dilute) Locus
A dog with a Dd or DD result will not be dilute. A dog with a dd result will have all their black or brown pigment lightened (“diluted”) to gray or light brown, and may lighten red pigment to cream.
F1b – First Generation Backcross
Backcrossing is breeding a hybrid back to one of the breeds it originates from. The “b” in F1b Goldendoodle simply means bred back to a purebred parent. It can be from a purebred Poodle or a purebred Golden retriever. Genetically, this means they're still first-generation.
D locus dilute d2 (Chow Chow type) (d2)
Dilution is the colour gene that dilutes brown to silver, and black to a blue or slate colur. Dilution is a recessive trait. This means that dogs can silently carry the dilute gene, without being dilute themselves.
F2B = (Also technically an F3 as it is 3 filial generations removed from original purebreds). F2 x Golden Retriever or Poodle, as long as the two back-crossed dogs were the same breed. F4- Multigen, any cross of the two breeds that is not included in any of the above generations.
An F2 has approximately 620 horsepower, while an F1 car stands at an estimated 1000 horsepower. On the whole Formula 1 cars are faster and much stronger than F2 cars. The downforce produced by Formula 1 cars is an incredible amount producing up to 5 G's of downforce.
The cars in F2 are much faster and more powerful than F3. It weighs 755kg with the driver. The engine is a V6 3.4-litre single turbocharged Mecachrome engine. It can reach 620 horsepower at 8750 rpm.
1. In a book or magazine, when ff. is written it refers to the page or line mentioned and two or more pages or lines after it. ...
In an email, FF is used to mean friends forever when sending a friendly email to your bosom friend. It's an internet slang you both use to communicate. On Facebook, people use FF to mean “Flashback Friday”, follow Friday just like in the Twitter case, or friends forever.
FF is short for forfeit and is a term used in gaming when a person or team gives up. The abbreviation "FF" in gaming may also be used for "friendly fire" and "Final Fantasy."
Typically, an F1 dog would have fewer health issues than an F2 or F1b dog. However, that does not mean an F2 dog would typically have poor health. However, it still stands to reason that the more you move away from the purebred dog, the greater the chance of additional health issues developing.
Dogs with B/B genotype are expected to express undiluted black pigment. They cannot transmit this brown variant to any of their offspring. Dogs with B/b genotype are expected to express undiluted black pigment and are carriers of brown. They will transmit the brown allele to 50% of their offspring.
Crossbred animals are derived from any other breed of goat including, rangeland (bush/feral) cashmere, angora and milking breed goats, which are mated with a Boer Buck. The first generation cross is an F1 (50%Boer), the second generation cross is F2 (75% Boer), the third is F3 (87.5% Boer) etc.

Service Dog (SD)
The condition is not painful, and it does not progress during the life of an affected dog. Mode of Inheritance: Autosomal recessive. Alleles: N = Normal, SD = Spinal dysraphism. Breeds appropriate for testing: Weimaraner.
This generation has become popular largely because F1BB Goldendoodles is the most likely to be totally non-shedding. Because of this this, F1BBs are great for families with moderate to severe pet allergies. The coat on F1BB Goldendoodles are normally curlier than a F1 or F1B Goldendoodle.
F2 Generation
Describes the cross between two F1 generation Groodles or an F1 Groodle parent crossed with a pure golden retriever or a pure poodle.
