Micah 6:8, the "Micah Mandate," gives a balanced answer to today's spiritual and political questions. "What does the Lord require of you? To act justly, and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God."
Jesus replied: “'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. ' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself. ' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
God wants to give you a purpose. He wants to bestow divine wisdom on you. It's not like God is holding out on you to make you miserable. He desires you to have a joyful, ambitious, purposeful life.
Many take this verse to mean that God will give them what they want if they trust him. It's a name it and claim it verse. If we do this, then God will give us what we want. Psalm 37:4 is often taken as a personal promise; if we put God first life will be good.
Seven Desires explores the common desires God has given us--to be heard, affirmed, blessed, safe, touched, chosen, and included.
God puts in us desires that will bring His righteousness, peace, and joy to our lives (see Romans 14:17), and they never disagree with His Word. Wrong desires torment us, and we are impatient about receiving them, but sanctified desire comes with a willingness to wait on God's ways and timing.
God's desire is that man yield completely to Him and cooperate wholeheartedly with Him for the highest of all beings and of the universe. Also, it is God's will to give to all men liberally without rebuking them for asking any and everything in line with the promise that they want or need for their good and His glory.
Our purpose on earth is to love God, then show the same love he offers us to others so they can come to know him. God wants us to lead others to him through our love for them!
Love God and your neighbor
This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself” (Matthew 22:37–39). When you replace hate with love, and anger with kindness, you'll feel closer to God and notice more peace in your life.
As Paul said, the chief of all virtues is love. In fact, he said that faith without love was literally worthless (1 Cor 13). Jesus, too, summarized the entirety of the law by saying, “Love the Lord your God.” Faith is important—crucially, centrally, eternally important.
God wants your heart to be knit together in love with other people. God is concerned about our unity. The unity God wants doesn't come from force, but love. God wants you to receive real riches that are found in the believer's full assurance.
God calls all of us to be His disciples and to do His work. In the Bible, God makes it clear that we are to love others, care for the poor, and live our lives in such a way that others see Him in us.
Also, when you're always worried about tomorrow, the future gets overwhelming. But God will give you the grace and strength you need when you get there. Right now, you only need enough power for today. “Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you” (1 Peter 5:7 NLT, second edition).
The Good News is that God always has a purpose in everything He does, and that purpose is for our good — and to bring Him glory. The most wonderful thing God has sent to mankind is His Son as the Redeemer of souls. Do not dismiss the purpose of God, because everything He does points to the salvation He offers to all.
Throughout the Bible, the cry of God's heart is His desire for us to be His people and for Him to be our God. He created us for Himself, but He also created us with a free will.
A God who makes no demands is the functional equivalent of a God who does not exist. A world without God, the living God who establishes moral laws to govern and perfect His children, is also a world without ultimate truth or justice. It is a world where moral relativism reigns supreme.
God's desire is for you to be with him forever in heaven(John 14:6). He has given believers the gift of the Holy Ghost to help us live a righteous life. The Holy Spirit is in you, producing fruits that will bring glory to God and plant you in heaven. It is God's ultimate desire that you be with him in heaven.
We feel as if He is not there for us or does not care to help us, but that is not true. He hears you and he knows the desires of your heart. He will give you everything you desire when the time is right.
Spend time in meditation and prayer.
They would spend time praying through their life and asking God to reveal to them where He was needed most. Through concentrated times of prayer they found their desire for God grow to the point where they longed to return to their prayer time again and again and again.
Since God does not desire any sacrifice, Jesus cannot be a sacrifice for sins. Quoting Hosea, Jesus says: “Go and learn what this means: 'I desire mercy and not sacrifice. '” (Matthew 9:13).
In the classic personal development book Think and Grow Rich,Napoleon Hill says "Sex desire is the most powerful of human desires. When driven by this desire, men develop keenness of imagination, courage, will-power, persistence, and creative ability unknown to them at other times."
