Some of the most common delivery failures happen because the number is invalid, the recipient opted out of messages, there were network problems with the recipient's carrier, or your message contained content that carriers frequently block.
“The last message that you know was received and responded to…should have a 'delivered' status,” Lavelle explains. If, under the messages you've sent after that, you don't see that “delivered” notification, that could mean that person has blocked you.
If the iMessage never shows a “Delivered” or “Read” message, and it's still blue, then you may have been blocked – but not always. If the iMessage goes through and shows a “Read” receipt, then you have definitely not been blocked.
Why do some text messages say delivered and some do not Android? There can be a few reasons why some text messages say "delivered" and some do not on Android. The primary cause is that the recipient's phone may not be connected to their cellular or Wi-Fi network, so the message cannot be delivered.
There are several reasons for this: The person that you sent the message to doesn't have an Apple device. iMessage is turned off on your device or on your recipient's device. To check if iMessage is turned on for your device, go to Settings > Messages > iMessage.
Send them an SMS message
When you send them an SMS and you get the "Delivered" notification underneath it, you weren't blocked. If you get a notification like "Message Not Delivered" or you get no notification at all, that's a sign of a potential block.
If you send a message as a regular SMS in the green text bubble and you do not get a “Delivered” notification but instead get a notification similar to “Message not Delivered” or no message at all, that means you were probably blocked.
Things You Should Know
They may have blocked your number, or your message was marked as spam. Call the person instead; if you can't reach them, you may be blocked. They may be roaming, outside of service range, or have airplane mode on. In any of these cases, they don't currently have cell service.
Typically, the message doesn't get delivered instantly due to some delay in the network and issues with connection requests. It could be a poor internet connection, a Messenger server problem, or a recipient's connection and lack of data storage space.
Your old messages remain blue, but the latest texts you send after they've blocked you turn green. However, the bubble colors aren't accurate clues.
If you call someone and go straight to voicemail (with barely even one ring), you've likely been blocked. Unfortunately, there is no way to tell if you've been blocked by looking at text messages, since texts from iPhones to Androids will send as SMS (green text bubbles) without a "Delivered" or "Read" status.
A green bubble simply means you are sending her a message through cellular SMS communications. It does not mean you're blocked. It's on for iMessage.
Android users may determine if someone has blocked their number by checking notifications. If the “sent” icon changes to “delivered,” the receiver is likely not blocked you. On the other hand, if it stays on “sent,” there's a good chance they have blocked your number.
Android phones move all blocked messages into a folder on the phone called “Spam and Blocked.” That means that the phone is still collecting messages from the blocked people; they just aren't notifying you.
Another way to know if someone blocked you on iMessage is to check the bubble color. If you see green bubbles, this means that your text messages are being sent through SMS, and they might have blocked you on iMessage.
When someone you've blocked tries to text you, you will not receive text messages from them. The blocked person also does not receive any notification that they're blocked. However, many iPhone users may be able to deduce that you've blocked them. This is because of the iMessage text “status” feature on iPhones.
Delivered means delivered. If your message has been blocked, you will never know unless the recipient tells you you are blocked. The only difference may be if their device was set up to send Read Receipts, if it suddenly just starts saying "Delivered" that means they either blocked you or they shut Read Receipts off.
So if the person's iMessage is off, and you try to send it, there name will not appear in blue and a normal carrier text message will go.
Use another phone number
You can try texting them by your secondary phone numbers, office phone numbers, or the phone numbers of some friends or relatives. It is highly likely that you will receive a response from the person who blocked your number.
When you Ignore a chat thread, even though you will receive all the messages, the Messenger will mark them as Sent only and not Delivered. You will see a hollow blue circle with a checkmark inside to indicate Sent, and a filled-in blue circle shows it as Delivered.
To find out if someone has blocked you on Messenger, you should first send them a message. If your message is not delivered, even after the recipient has been online, you're most likely blocked. To tell if your message isn't delivered, it will have an empty circle with a check mark for an icon.
SENT means the message has been submitted to the cellular network for immediate delivery. DELIVERED means the message was delivered to the recipient's cell phone.
