If you send a message to someone and the message is not delivered, meaning that only an unfilled check mark icon appears, it generally means one of two things: The user has not logged into Facebook. The user has blocked you on Messenger.
How to know if someone blocked or restricted you on Messenger? A blocked person's message won't get delivered, so they see an empty circle with a checkmark. In contrast, a restricted person may see a filled circle with a checkmark that indicates the message has been delivered but won't get the read receipt.
Empty circle with a check mark: The message has been sent but not delivered to the recipient. Filled circle with a check mark: The message has been delivered.
To find out if someone has blocked you on Messenger, you should first send them a message. If your message is not delivered, even after the recipient has been online, you're most likely blocked. To tell if your message isn't delivered, it will have an empty circle with a check mark for an icon.
If you see only Public posts, that's one of the first signs that the person has restricted you. Next, go to the About section of their profile. If you can see only Public information on their About page as well, it's another signal that they have restricted you.
Did They Block or Restrict Me on Messenger? Messenger will not deliver your message to them if someone blocks you. Instead of a delivered icon, you'll see an empty blue checked circle next to your message. Restrictions limit you from seeing the “Read” receipt.
When you add someone to your Restricted list, you'll still be friends with them on Facebook, but they'll only be able to see your public information (example: your posts and profile info you choose to make public) and posts you tag them in.
When it doesn't say Delivered, it means the other person is texting someone else or on the phone. Once they stop texting or hang up the phone, you will see the text message has been delivered.
When you restrict someone on Messenger, you won't receive any notifications when the person sends a message. Your phone won't even ring when the recipient calls you on Messenger. You can't send a message or call the person either. You must unrestrict the person before sending a message (more on that later).
Your friend isn't notified that you placed them on your Restricted list. They can still see all of your public posts and any post you tag them in. Don't share the secret and stay friends.
What happens when Facebook disables my account? For most violations, if you continue to violate the Community Standards, despite repeated warnings and restrictions, we'll disable your account. For example, we disable accounts created to get around our restrictions, or post content tied to severe safety risks.
You may see the status “Single”, “In a relationship”, “Engaged”, “Married”, “In an open relationship”, “It's complicated”, etc. If it says “No relationship info to show”, you are not able to check the relationship status of that person according to his or her privacy setting, or it is not listed at all.
The receiver is logged out of Facebook
Once that you sent a message to a person on Facebook or in messenger who is actually not online, automatically, the message will appear as sent but not delivered to the receiver.
From Chats, tap on the conversation you want to ignore. At the top, tap the person's name. Tap Ignore Messages, then Ignore.
The blue circle with the check next to your message means that your message was sent. A filled-in blue circle next to your message means that your message was delivered. And, when a friend has read your message, a small version of your friend's photo will appear next to your message.
Posting attention-seeking behavior
If your partner is obsessed with their social media statistics, posts selfies several times a day in the hope of getting a response, or goes to extremes to create videos that are likely to draw attention, this is a box of red flags.
You can hide your friends list on Facebook by going to your profile's Privacy settings. By default, your friends list is public, and anyone with a Facebook account can see who is on it.
You entered an invalid or wrong number. You're texting a non-text-enabled landline or phone number extension. Your message was sent but not delivered. A carrier flagged your text message as spam.
