Speaking with the Great Jar will cause 3 duelist summon signs to appear on the ground. Defeat all 3 duelists in turn to be rewarded with the talisman. Duelists appear to be randomly selected from among actual online player-characters, which are then scaled and given infinite FP.
The Great-Jar's challenge and reward
You'll see three summon signs on the ground. Each of these will summon an NPC with the title “Knight of the Great Jar,” and each will use a random loadout from a random player. You need to defeat all three of these AI players one at a time.
You can only summon and fight one at a time — you can find the summoning signs directly in front of The Great-Jar. Defeating all three will reward you with the Great-Jar's Arsenal talisman, allowing you to increase your equipment load vastly.
