Of all the dogs on this list, the Czechoslovakian Vlcak (CSV) shares the closest resemblance to their wolf relatives. This FSS breed was originally bred in the 1950s by crossing a German Shepherd with a Carpathian Wolf. These working dogs, who patrolled borders with the Czech military, love having a job to do.
Alaskan Malamute
Another strong-headed dog that looks like a wolf, the Alaskan Malamute is just as handsome as the Husky.
Wolfdogs are usually created by breeding a wolf with a German Shepherd, Husky or similar breed of domestic dog. But owning a Wolfdog isn't like owning a Husky or German Shepherd. They are much more challenging animals that aren't really meant to be pets. They need a lot of space and should never be left on their own.
Physically, a malamute has a fairly thick, about 2-inch long, coat, and distinct facial markings, which all make the malamutes one of the most popular wolf-like dog breeds. These canines can be seen in various colors like shades of black and red, gray and white, and sable and white.
Shih Tzus share more DNA with wolves than most other breeds. The only breed group with more shared wolf DNA is the Nordic spitz group (Huskies, Samoyeds, and Malamutes). The breed almost went extinct in the early 1900s after the death of Empress Tzu Hsi.
Tamaskan
They were bred to look like wolves, with a thick coat that comes in red-grey, wolf-grey, and black-grey. Because they're so new, they're quite rare. There are only 600 certified Tamaskans in the world.

The African golden wolf (Canis lupaster) or African wolf is a canine native to North Africa, West Africa, the Sahel, northern East Africa, and the Horn of Africa. It is the descendant of a genetically admixed canid of 72% gray wolf (Canis lupus) and 28% Ethiopian wolf (Canis simensis) ancestry.

For the right owner, a wolf dog can make an extraordinary companion. These animals tend to bond bond strongly with their owners and are fiercely protective. The downside to this temperament is that these large, potentially aggressive pets may harm other people or pets in order to protect you.
Sometimes referred to as a “wolfdog,” a hybrid is a canine cross of domestic dog and any species of wolf. Despite its wolf-like pointy ears, long coat, and general skittishness, the husky is a breed of domesticated dog and not a hybrid at all.
Dogs and wolves have many outward similarities. After all, the two species descend from a common ancestor. In fact the two species share 98.8% of the same DNA. They can even interbreed (although their offspring are typically not fertile).

The Northwestern wolf (Canis lupus occidentalis) is known by many names, including the Mackenzie Valley wolf, Canadian timber wolf, and Alaskan timber wolf.

Eye-catching, curious and sometimes dangerous, the dingo can be observed across Australia where they play an important role in the natural environment.
Yuki is a part dog and part wolf, and the very rare wolfdog hybrid is actually 87.5% Gray Wolf, 8.6% Siberian Husky, with 3.9% German Shepherd – as reported by his residence, the Shy Wolf Sanctuary in Naples, Florida. A few months ago, Yuki achieved viral fame because he is so large people thought he was fake.
Australian law also does not allow the entry of domestic and non-domestic dog hybrids (such as wolf crosses) into the country. The following hybrids are not permitted to enter Australia: Czechoslovakian wolfdog or Czechoslovakian Vlcak.
