According to the Independent, he can only enjoy a certain popular snack when it's served up to him in a very specific way. A royal source explained earlier this year: "Charles enjoys cheese and biscuits at the end of many of his meals.
Famously, the Queen's son does not eat lunch. The royal's abnormal eating pattern has even been acknowledged by Clarence House in a list of 70 facts released for the King's (formerly Prince Charles) 70th birthday.
The first product the brand created was an oat biscuit, and they are said to be the King's favourite biscuits to accompany cheese. According to My London, a source revealed the King likes his biscuits pre-warmed to a certain temperature, otherwise he prefers not to eat them at all.
He Seems To Favor Savory Over Sweet
Instead, King Charles favors Italian cuisine and other healthy, fresh dishes. One of his favorite dinners, according to Chef McGrady is a rack of lamb sous vide with wild mushroom risotto. Chef McGrady says he also likes polenta dishes.
Royal duties and garlic breath just don't mix
Garlic is a no-no." When your job is as the head of state, it means a lot of close contact with influential people, so avoiding garlic seems to be a sensible sacrifice. It's not just garlic breath the king has to worry about.
McGrady also shared that pasta is forbidden (albeit only at dinner time) by Her Majesty too, as she's not a fan of carbs in the evening. "When she dines on her own she's very disciplined. No starch is the rule. No potatoes, rice or pasta for dinner.
“When dining, the royal family has to be careful with shellfish due to shellfish poisoning due to their work schedules,” former royal butler and etiquette expert Grant Harrold told the Daily Express. “Therefore, you will not normally find this on the royal menu.”
He even revealed two years ago that he eats veggie two days of the week and goes fully vegan for a third.
The King, however, prefers to eat a mostly plant-based diet and skips lunch entirely.
