They won't be able to see when you're online or if you've read their messages. You also won't see when they're online. We'll let you know if you're about to enter a group chat with someone you restricted.
It is difficult to tell if someone has restricted you on Messenger because Facebook doesn't notify you about it. As the person who restricted you doesn't get the notification regarding your messages and calls, so their reply is unexpected. They can see your messages and missed calls after unrestricting you.
Instead of blocking a person, you can restrict them. This means the conversation is moved from your chat list and they can't see when you're active.
To conclude whether or not a person has restricted you, ask a mutual friend to look at their profile. If they can see public and private (i.e., friends only) posts and account info, it confirms that the person has restricted you.
It has been observed that a temporary block may last as little as a few hours, but could also last up to 30 days. There is currently no way to view the duration of the block.
Ten or more strikes: You'll get a 30-day restriction from creating content.
When you add someone to the Facebook restricted list, you remain friends with them while limiting the posts they're able to see. They will only see your posts if you've set the audience to “Public” (indicated by the globe icon), if they're tagged in it or if a mutual friend tags both of you in the post.
The restricted person's posts are only visible to their friends, and they cannot see posts from anyone else who is not their friend. Restricted profiles do not appear in search results and users do not receive notifications when the restricted profile posts to their Timeline.
When you put someone on the Restricted list, you continue to remain friends on Facebook. However, blocking a person unfriends you. Meaning, you both will be removed from each other's friends list.
Blocking someone prevents them from being able to comment on your posts. But when you restrict them, you can both comment on each other's posts. The difference is that the comments made by the person you've restricted will only be visible to them and no one else.
You'll also be able to approve or remove their comments or likes on your posts and stories. If the person you've restricted tries to view your profile, they won't be able to see your stories, posts, or profile information. However, you'll still be able to see their likes and comments on other accounts.
While it's obvious to someone when they've been blocked — because they can no longer find that user on the platform — it won't be obvious when they've been restricted. They will see that user's posts in their feed like they usually do. But they will no longer see when the user is online or has read their messages.
If you've placed someone on your Restricted list, they won't be able to see your story.
People that you block can still see your likes and comments on posts that were shared by public accounts or accounts they follow.
There are two kinds of Facebook restrictions: Temporary and Permanent blockings.
Facebook will sometimes restrict users' accounts if it feels they have posted something inappropriate, or engaged in activity that goes against its community standards. These restrictions may prevent you from seeing certain posts, sharing posts yourself, sending messages, adding friends or reacting to things.
If it says that person is unavailable in messager it means their account is either deactivated or they have blocked you. That's also why the option to restrict/unrestrict them has now disappeard, for either of those same two reasons above.
The restricted person can still see your stories and published posts. The same holds true from your side. That is, you can view their stories, highlights, and feed.
Unlike blocking, restricted users will still be able to see your posts and leave comments. However, they get to keep those comments for themselves. That's right, only they can see what they write on your Instagram content. It will remain invisible to other users and yourself.
While someone is blocked, any sent text messages will be blocked by Messages. You won't be able to retrieve them. If you decide to unblock the person, you will receive the texts normally. However, if the blocked person calls and leaves you a voicemail, you can check it.
To confirm if you have been muted, you send a message using another Facebook profile. If the message is delivered and the recipient reads it, then there is a high chance that he/she has muted you on messenger. Alternatively, you should try opening the app on another device.
If you think you have been muted on Facebook, then it is likely your message won't be 'Seen'. This means they haven't read the message. If you have sent a message, but it has not been received it will say 'Message sent'. This means the recipient hasn't been online.
