Scientifically speaking, there is no evidence to prove that drinking milk after fish can be harmful or could result in pigmentation of the skin. A number of fish dishes are prepared with curd as an essential ingredient and curd is a dairy product, thus this theory becomes redundant.
Drinking milk after fish is safe in most cases. You will never get Phulbehri after consuming the two together. It's best to eat a healthy diet to have a healthy immune system.
In Ayurveda, the Two Are Incompatible
In Ayurveda, fish is non-vegetarian and milk, despite being an animal by-product, is vegetarian and the two and therefore incompatible. Ayurvedic expert Dr BN Sinha told NDTV that having the two together increases your body's tamas guna (harmful energies) and causes an imbalance.
