Just as Tommy was going to kill him slowly, Arthur pulls the trigger to make his death less painful, an action that really shows Arthur's development. Like the rest of the Shelbys, besides Tommy, Arthur is arrested by the police and taken away in the end of season 3, unable to escape to California with Linda.
Arthur Shelby was killed and resurrected in Peaky Blinders, season 4, episode 6, but had his death been permanent there would have been dire consequences for the Shelby family. In season 3, Arthur killed Vicente Changretta, driving his son, Luca, to declare a vendetta against the Shelbys in season 4.
Arthur is the only person in the family Tommy tells about his diagnosis and is too distraught to be at the final goodbye dinner to his brother. But now that he's alive, a reunion could be on the cards – just in time for the movie.
"I actually chose to leave Peaky Blinders because I wanted to explore new avenues, and new characters and new stories."
Even though Arthur was able to survive death in season 5, he still ended up struggling with his personal issues. In season 6, he continued to struggle with his mental health issues.
With many believing Arthur is dead, he has the chance to pursue a new identity. But Arthur chooses to stay in Birmingham and remain as a partner of the Shelby Company LM.

Freddie died of "pestilence," likely the Spanish Influenza pandemic of 1918–1920, before the series begins. At Freddie's funeral, Thomas reveals that he made a promise back in France to speak over Freddie's grave should he pass away before him, which he fulfills.
Billy Grade (Emmett J Scanlan) is revealed to be the informant or 'black cat' that betrayed the Peaky Blinders.
Tommy, for all intents and purposes, betrayed his family at the end of series three. Unbeknownst to his family it was more of a tactical move for Tommy that needed to happen as part of his master plan. They're all dealing with it in their own way and the family is all split up when we start the series.
Because he failed the test set for him at Arrow House and chose his friend over his family.
Over five or so years, they became close, drinking whiskey, snorting cocaine and womanising together. Finn didn't realise that Billy was also working as an informant, telling Peaky Blinders secrets to the IRA.

Eventually, Lizzie has had enough, with him sleeping with Diana Mitford being the last straw. She informs Thomas that she is leaving him. He surprises her by letting Charles go with her.

Arthur Shelby
Arthur is still alive at the end of the series and a lot of credit for that goes to Thomas. Tommy is always looking out for him and doing anything he can to save Arthur.
Every season of Skins had controversial moments, but the shocking murder of Freddie in season 4 continued that season's extremely dark turn. Freddie was murdered by John Foster in season 4, episode 7, "Effy", and the bizarre turn of events eventually took Cook to his lowest point as a character.

However, Billy Grade (Emmett J. Scanlan) was revealed to be the informant after he picked up the phone and tipped off the IRA. The IRA took out Barney as well as Aberama Gold (Aidan Gillen) and Polly Gray (Helen McCrory) to thwart the plan and also to punish Tommy.
