Soon after being widowed, Daemon and Rhaenyra marry each other in secret when he is 39 years old, and she is 23. Their marriage causes a huge scandal at court and another rift between Daemon and Viserys, but it is eventually accepted. The couple has two sons together, Aegon and Viserys.
Joffrey is named in honor of Laenor's late lover, Joffrey Lonmouth, who was beaten to death at their wedding by Rhaenyra's former lover, so there's a lot going on there. In episode 8, Joffrey is a toddler and plays on the floor near a fire. That's it. Viserys is the second-born child of Alicent and Viserys.
