If in spite of best efforts to convince the husband, he still remains insensitive to his wife needs in this respect, she is justified in taking whatever steps are necessary in terminating the marriage, if she is unable to tolerate it. This is definitely one of the valid grounds for divorce in Islam.
Bring Up the Issue
But you can't find a proper solution if you don't discuss it with him. You can simply tell him: “I want to help us have longer sexual intercourse. I've done some research and know what can help us.” You know your man the best, so you can think more deeply how you can bring up the issue.
A marriage is still valid if sexual intercourse is not taking place. If both partners have agreed to not engage in sexual intercourse, then there is no issue. The marriage is in tact.
A husband is commanded by the law of Allah to treat his wife with equity, to respect her feelings, and show her kindness and consideration, especially if he has any other wife. Nevertheless, the man may not be able to be fair and just in terms of love.
Divorce is not something that is forbidden in Islam. Under the Quran, a husband can leave his wife for up to four months in a trial separation. Once that four-month period has elapsed, the husband and wife are to reunite to continue their marriage or obtain a divorce.
Allah (swt) repeatedly says in the Quran to show love, kindness and warns that they should not harm their wives even after divorce. Allah (swt) has even forbidden us to call each other by bad names and to humiliate. The abusive behavior does not reflect the kindness and love for their spouses.
A sexless relationship will not necessarily harm the overall health of the relationship. "If both people are happy without sex (or infrequent sex), there is no problem. Like so much about our sex life, it's a problem when it causes distress," Zimmerman explains.
Can a sexless marriage survive? The short answer is that yes, a sexless marriage can survive – but it can come at a cost. If one partner desires sex but the other is uninterested, lack of sex can lead to decreased intimacy and connection, feelings of resentment and even infidelity.
Although a sexless marriage is not listed in the law as a ground of fault for absolute divorce or divorce from bed and board, it can be strong evidence for a court to find constructive abandonment.
"The one biggest piece of advice I can give when it comes to telling your partner you are not satisfied with your sex life is using an 'I feel X when you do Y' statement," Dabney told INSIDER. "What I mean by this is to not criticize them but to explain how you feel because of the sex life or situation."
While a lack of sexual desire in a marriage can sometimes point to an affair, there are many other reasons for a husband not interested in sex. He may be dealing with stress, depression, a health problem, or performance anxiety surrounding sex.
According to Healthline, When a woman is not sèxually satisfied it can have a far-reaching impact on her health, both mentally and physically. Mentally, a woman may experience stress and depression, as she may feel disconnected from her partner and experience a lack of intimacy in the relationship.
Cheating in any form or circumstance can never be justified. And that includes infidelity in a sexless relationship. The fact that the word relationship is still there despite the lack of intimacy means that you must remain committed to your partner.
There are times you MUST leave—if there is ongoing abuse or if you are in danger of physical harm, you should only consider staying safe. Repeated bouts of addiction, cheating, emotional badgering, and severe financial abuse need to be handled with extreme care as well.
The lack of physical touch, emotional connection, and sexual intimacy can lead to feelings of loneliness, depression, and low self-esteem. It can also cause physical symptoms such as headaches, insomnia, and decreased libido.
Walk away if your problems go beyond lack of sex (criticism, contempt, lost trust, etc.) and one or both of you is unwilling to work on the relationship. If you're both still willing to try, prioritize regular time together to experiment, communicate, and be intimate. You may also consider couples' therapy.
And to those women on whose part ye fear disloyalty and ill-conduct, admonish them (first) and (then) refuse to share their beds (and last) beat them (lightly), but if they return to obedience, seek not against them means of annoyance.”
Islam allows an abused wife to claim compensation under ta'zir (discretionary corporal punishment). The 19th-century Syrian jurist Ib Abidin said ta'zir is mandatory for a: … man who beats his wife excessively and “breaks bone”, “burns skin”, or “blackens” or “bruises her skin”.
Ibn al-Humam believed that a husband can whip his wife with only ten lashes. However, al-Nasafi put the maximum limit at 100 lashes. Al-Nasafi also ruled that if a wife dies from the beating the husband is not liable as long as he does not exceed 100 strikes.
And yet, the real answer to this significant question is this: It is absolutely possible that your partner does love you, did love you before, and will continue to love you in the future. Infidelity does not mean that the love is gone or never existed. The reality is that you can love someone and still cheat on them.
And 31 percent of them have actually done it. Should you be worried?
According to one study, approximately 15 percent of married couples are sexless: Spouses haven't had sex with each other in the past six months to one year. I was once in a sexless relationship.
Depression, anxiety, stress, and other mental health issues are all linked to lower libido, as are some antidepressants. If your wife is struggling with any mental health issues, she may be less interested in sex at the moment.
There are many factors that might be affecting his sex drive—an undiagnosed medical condition, a side effect of a medication, a hormonal imbalance, stress, depression, low self-esteem, trauma, or even problems in your marriage that he hasn't brought up.
