When you come to the place where God hides you, know this: If you will walk with Him in faith and obedience, He will lead you and He will feed you. You will find Him faithful at Cherith, and you will come out saying, “Even Cherith was in the purpose of God.”
'” (Psa. 42:3). When God hides his face, one of two things will happen: Either we will begin to long for him, or we rest content without his presence. Notice, when Solomon's bride comes to the door and finds that he is gone, she does not say, “Well, he is gone, too bad for him!” No!
Psalm 27:5. For in the day of trouble He will conceal me in His tabernacle; in the secret place of His tent He will hide me; He will lift me up on a rock.
God is able to establish you—to get you to the place spiritually where your walk with Him cannot be shaken, where the testing of your faith will only make it stronger—to place you securely and permanently in a position of faith, a situation of blessing, and a condition of peace.
Deuteronomy 1:30 says, “The LORD your God who goes before you will Himself fight on your behalf.” What a comfort to know that we don't have to fight our battles alone. God will fight for us.
Satan will be destroyed. You will live in eternity with no more temptation and no more sin. Revelation 22:3-5 says, “No longer will there be anything accursed, but the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in [the city], and his servants will worship him… And night will be no more.
God can take you to Cherith by removing you from a position. God can take you to Cherith through a prolonged sickness that limits what you are able to do. Cherith is the place where God hides you and holds back what you most want to do.
Mark 4:22–23 states, “For there is nothing hidden which will not be revealed, nor has anything been kept secret but that it should come to light. If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear.” As the Scriptures say, “Let everyman speak truth with his neighbor” (Ephesians 4:25, Proverbs 25:9).
By placing our faith in Jesus, cultivating a lifestyle of prayer and worship, and listening to the Holy Spirit, we can experience the fullness of His love and grace and enter into the Secret Place where we can abide in His peace and rest.
DEAR R.N.: The most important thing I can say is to assure you that God hasn't forgotten you or turned His back on you. God's promise is clear: "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you" (Hebrews 13:5).
In Isaiah 43:4, it says, “Since you are precious and honored in my sight and because I love you, I will give people in exchange for you, nations in exchange for your life.” In God's eyes, we are precious and honored. He loves us so much that he would exchange nations for our life.
Jesus died as you, so you could live as Him. Through the death and miraculous resurrection of Jesus Christ and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit in your life, God sees Jesus when he sees you. There are many reasons to praise God, both found in scripture and out of our personal experience with Him.
Those who imagine that the Christian life is negative and cheerless and dull, they are gravely mistaken. God never removes something from our lives without replacing it with something far better. It might not seem so at the time, but we later marvel at God's wisdom and goodness.
The Bible says, "The wages of sin is death." We are all sinners, so death will come. If we spend our efforts trying to preserve this earthly life, we still will lose it. On the other hand, "whoever loses his life for my sake will find it." Jesus does not mean to lose one's life by dying, but to give it to Him.
Study the following scriptures: Amos 3:6–7. Amos teaches that the Lord reveals his secrets to the prophets.
Nothing in your life is outside of God's purpose or beyond His control. Now, exactly how the events of our lives are woven into the Father's plan we cannot tell. These things are “secret,” and the secret things belong to the Lord. These secrets are a mystery to us, so we often find ourselves asking why.
This story leads us into our text today, because unlike the example in the story, the Bible makes it clear that not even our best efforts can hide us from God. There is no escaping His all-seeing eyes. There is nowhere we can go where He doesn't know.
In his teaching on prayer in the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus stresses the importance of having such a place. I've come up with four reasons why he stresses a secret place: intentionality, privacy, intimacy, and integrity.
For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made.
God has revealed himself to us in the glory of creation, in the perfection of the written word, and in the personal experience of all who seek him.
God's forgiveness and love are unconditional. He loved us while we were still sinners (Romans 5:8) and we cannot earn His love by our good works. We are forgiven based on the perfect work of Jesus Christ.
Proverbs 31:16-17
"She surveys a field and acquires it; from her own resources, she plants a vineyard. She works energetically; her arms are powerful." The Good News: If a woman sets her mind on something, she will get it done — no matter what.
He creates and forms each of us personally. He speaks to us in His word. He hears our prayers. And He stepped into the world in the most intimate way possible, sending Jesus to as one of us, to save us from sin and allow all who trust Him to be in relationship with Him forever.
