ESV For to the one who has, more will be given, and he will have an abundance, but from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away.
If the thing you desire is not obtained in the time expected, your heart and soul are grieved and pained by the delay. But when the desired thing finally arrives, it is a tree of life: your heart and soul are encouraged and revived. These two aspects of hope are true in all matters, both spiritual and natural.
Proverbs 13:12 in Other Translations

12 The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light. 12 The night is far gone; the day is at hand. So then let us cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light.
For whosoever has, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever has not, from him shall be taken away even what he has.
Matt 13:10-12 (NIV)
Those who staunchly refuse to believe in Jesus do not possess divinely enlightened minds and therefore remain unable to perceive spiritual Truth and walk in His ways. Like the good seed sown on hardened ground, the Truth is quickly taken away from them.
Commentary on Matthew 13:1-23
Jesus entered into a boat that he might be the less pressed, and be the better heard by the people. By this he teaches us in the outward circumstances of worship not to covet that which is stately, but to make the best of the conveniences God in his providence allots to us.
Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality. This verse shows that Christians have a responsibility to share what God has given them in two ways: Financially support Christians in need.
A lot of people have questions about Romans 13 verses one to seven, which tells Christians to submit to the governing authorities and that God has put the governing authorities in place basically to keep order in the world and to keep evil at bay and to reward those who do what is good.
“The armor of light is God's armor. It only comes from believing in Him. It's not a weapon of the world, but a weapon that is mighty through God.” It is a spiritual light; His brightness and radiance wielded by us as we defend ourselves from the world and sin, and proclaim God's glory to the lost.
Proverbs 13:12 Longs for Communion with God
So help us to live faithfully. Help us to live today in the hope and joy and peace and security that you have made possible for us even as we hope, and in that coming day where all of these things will be brought to full completion. All glory be to your name. Jesus.

Verse 12 . The delay of what is anxiously hoped for, is very painful to the mind; obtaining it is very pleasant. But spiritual blessings are chiefly intended. Verse 13 .
Whoever scorns instruction will pay for it, but whoever respects a command is rewarded. This wise saying discusses those who choose to listen and learn as well as those who don't. It also points out the result of each choice. “Whoever scorns instruction” is a guy or gal who despises guidance.
Never snatch out of my mouth a word of truth, for I hope in your judgments.
Description. The numbers in the King James Holy Bible have significant meaning that follow the number throughout the scripture. The number 13 has always been an 'unlucky' number. The number 13 is the number that represents Satan, evil, wickedness, devils, and everything vile that is connected to them.
Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts. And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.
It is authored by Paul the Apostle, while he was in Corinth in the mid-50s AD, with the help of an amanuensis (secretary), Tertius, who adds his own greeting in Romans 16:22. Paul wrote to the Roman Christians because he was "eager to preach the gospel" to them, so as to remind them on "certain subjects".
12 Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. 13 Share with the Lord's people who are in need. Practice hospitality. 14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.
Even in the midst of the trials of this life we can have hope because of what God has done for us. The meaning of Romans 12:12 shows us that whatever you are going through, whatever storm you are facing, joy is yours when you place your hope in Jesus.
General Idea: This passage is about exercising the Spiritual Gifts, abilities and opportunities that God has given us. But, one thing needs to be cleared out of the way for us to move in His Way- our pride! We must be honest about ourselves and seek Him as Lord not by who we are and what we can do.
