Tones range from warm to cool, and are represented by a letter. For example, in the shade “8G,” the 8 stands for level 8 (Blonde), the G stands for tone (Golden).
A: It depends on your taste. To me it looks like 6G has more red highlights in it and 6N is a solid light brown color.
Base colours start at 1, for deepest black, and finish at 10, lightest blonde. So if we're going for an ash blonde colour, for example, we'd probably start with a 6 (dark blonde) or 7 (blonde). Level 6 hair is light brown! For the best possible color result, you'll want to stick with SUPER pigmented/bold shades! When your hair is healthy (unbleached) it's going to be less porous and therefore it may not hold color as long. Colors that last 6 weeks may only last a week or so on healthy brown hair!
