Compensation is a lump sum or periodic payment for a personal injury that is at least in part for the cost of supports the NDIS may fund. We account for compensation to avoid duplicating funding of the types of supports provided for in your compensation payment.
Yet the average plan budget for people in supported independent living also fell 1.6 per cent, from $351,600 in 2020 to $346,100 in 2021.
Recovery of NDIS amounts previously paid for supports
The NDIA may recover an amount from your compensation payment if your claim is finalised after you become a participant. The amount recovered won't be more than the amount the NDIS has already paid for supports relating to your injury.
Money from your NDIS plan budget will be paid into your nominated bank account within 24 to 48 hours. You can then pay your provider. Pay your provider and then make a Payment Request: Once you receive your support, pay your provider using your own money and get a receipt.
Will NDIS funding impact my Centrelink payments? Centrelink does not include NDIS funding in their income or asset tests, which means that accessing NDIS funding will not impact your Centrelink payments.

The short answer is — if you don't use it, you lose it. Like private health insurance benefits, if you haven't used all of your NDIS funds by the time your plan ends, it will not roll over to your next plan. Instead, the unspent funds will be returned to the NDIA.

Are NDIS payments taxable? The great news is, no, you won't be charged any tax on your NDIS funding. If you are an NDIS participant living with a permanent and significant disability, all of your funding is exempt from income tax. Any payments you receive as an NDIS participant from the NDIS are tax-free.

The NDIS is not designed to fund supports more appropriately funded or provided by the health system. Assessment, diagnosis and treatment of health conditions, along with medications and hospital care, remain the responsibility of the health system.
The NDIS provides funding to eligible people with disability to gain more time with family and friends, greater independence, access to new skills, jobs, or volunteering in their community, and an improved quality of life.
How long does a request to review a decision take? We aim to complete all internal reviews within 60 days from the day after we receive your request. We will also provide you with reasons for our decisions in writing.
The specific amount of NDIS Autism funding you or your child will receive will depend on your NDIS plan and individual needs. However, according to the NDIS, Autistic persons receive an average of $32,800 per year in funding. Children under seven years of age receive an average of $16,700 per year.
NDIS participants are responsible for day-to-day living costs including rent, groceries, utilities, telephone or internet costs. Can you keep the NDIS after you turn 65? If you started receiving NDIS supports before you turned 65, you can continue to receive services even after you've aged past 65. You can choose whether you want to continue to receive NDIS supports, or whether you'd like to access support through the Commonwealth aged system.

You can have as many goals as you like in your plan, there is no maximum number of goals. Your plan must have at least one goal.
