Bigender: Someone who identifies with both male and female genders, or even a third gender. Biological sex: Refers to anatomical, physiological, genetic, or physical attributes that determine if a person is male, female, or intersex.
Overview. Ambiguous genitalia is a rare condition in which an infant's external genitals don't appear to be clearly either male or female. In a baby with ambiguous genitalia, the genitals may be incompletely developed or the baby may have characteristics of both sexes.
True hermaphroditism is a rare form of intersex anomaly where both male and female gonads are present. True hermaphrodites diagnosed in the past have been preferentially reared as males.
